My Desert Island Beauty Picks - 'Nude' Lipstick

Another month, another desert island beauty picks. I've really been enjoying writing this series, and really thinking about what products I actually love the most. As I did red lipsticks last month, I thought I would continue with other shades. You might have noticed that in the title, I have put nude in apostrophes. Nude is not a universal lipstick shade, nude is the colour of your skin. So my picks, work for my skin tone. However with these lipsticks, it is definitely more about the formula but each of these do come in a variety of shades so you should be able to find the shade for you.  Let's see what I would take!

My Desert Island Beauty Picks - Blush

It's time to do another 'desert island' beauty picks post. There was not one last month, but you can check out all my previous ones here. If you have not seen the other ones, the premise is that aside from all the basics (food, water etc.), as a makeup lover, deciding three items from a particular area of beauty that I would take with me. Sadly I have too much makeup to part with so I have to do it in sections. This month, I am doing blush. I should point out that these blushes will not suit everyone as it is for my skintone, but I do love the formulas and each has other shades which should work for other people!

My Desert Island Beauty Picks - Makeup Brushes

In all my desert island beauty series, I have featured at least three of each product. Whilst it is mainly due to my makeup obsession, it is completely unnecessary. Unless you are a makeup artist, we do not really need to have excessive amounts of one type of beauty product - and that includes beauty tools. For obvious reasons, a makeup artist has a plethora of different brushes in their kit, for sanitary purposes and for creating varied, editorial or commercial looks. But do I really need more than a couple brushes?

My Desert Island Beauty Picks - Red Lipstick

I'm kicking off July with my second part of my Desert Island Beauty Picks. Last month I did eyeshadow palettes, now that was easy but lipsticks! There is no way I could not separate these into categories. Way too hard! I decided to go by shade, and I thought I would start with red lipstick. I actually wrote a post at the start of the year about red lipstick, and that included 5 so I had to bring it down to 3, but I've also got a newbie since then that's shaken things up. Let's see what I would take!

Desert Island Beauty - Makeup Routine

It's not a secret that I own way too much makeup for the average person. If you have read any of my Desert Island Beauty series, I tried to divide up my beauty stash to try and decide what I would take. I also share my makeup routine every Monday on Instagram. Today I thought I would be really strict with myself and share the makeup routine that I would take with me, if I could only take one of each step. If you have seen any of my Monday Instagram posts, you won't be surprised with some of these picks!

Red Liquid Lipsticks - My Top Picks

Back in July, I wrote my desert island beauty picks for red lipstick. That featured both liquid and traditional lipstick formulas. As a liquid lipstick lover, I thought I would follow it up with a beauty picks post on red liquid lipsticks alone. Some of these did feature in that post, but I’ve also included two others. Whilst these are all red shades, I love these formulas and would happily own (and do) other shades.

My Desert Island Beauty Picks - Eyeshadow Palettes

We've all had to answer that question - what would you take with you to an desert island. Obviously we would all want food, water and shelter but what if that was already provided? As a makeup lover, it would be hard to part with my entire makeup collection but it does make me wonder what I would actually choose. Even that's too difficult. So I thought about dividing it into the different sections and see what I would have to take with me. First up, eyeshadow palettes!

Natural Eyeshadow Palettes - My Top Picks

Last month I wrote my desert island beauty picks for eyeshadow palettes. I then followed it up with a beauty picks post on just warm eyeshadow palettes. I thought it would be good to do another follow-up post with other palettes. I was going to call this cool-toned palettes, but most of the palettes I own tend to include at least one neutral/slightly warmer eyeshadow. So I've gone with 'natural' eyeshadow palette picks.
