What's In My Travel Toiletries Bag: February 2018

As I said in my last post, today I am writing all about what I took with me this weekend in my toiletries bag. If you want to see what make-up I took with me, click here. Over the years, I have tended to over pack when it comes to toiletries, and bringing lots of things that I really do not need. As I was only going to be away for two days and three nights, I tried to be strict with what I actually needed to bring. Now I did also bring a toothbrush and cotton wool pads but they are not very exciting so I decided not to include them in the photograph, but I promise I did have them! For those wondering, my toiletries bag is from Oliver Bonas and I absolutely love it! It fits so much stuff. They have since re-designed the letters on the Alphabet Wash Bags but I still think they look gorgeous!

What's In My Travel Toiletries Bag: February 2018 - Life Of A Beauty Nerd

I picked this up back in November when I visited the pop-up Birchbox shop on Carnaby Street with Stefan from HOWSTE and this was the first time I have used it. As I said in that post, I love foaming shower gels and this was no exception. It smelt amazing and even the smallest amount goes a long way.

I will say that I might not repurchase this when I finish it as you can get cheaper variations but I really did enjoy using this so I certainly wouldn't mind getting it again in a future Birchbox.

Obviously I bought some deodorant so I don't smell throughout the long busy days. I prefer stick/solid deodorants rather than sprays or roll-ons as I find they just last a bit longer and feel more nourishing on the skin.

This is still my favourite face wash for the morning, you can get this in a smaller size which I have bought and used on previous trips away but I was about to finish this particular bottle so I just brought it along instead.

I think this is a great cleanser that everyone can use, it doesn't lather up and become too 'soapy' so it's really quick and easy to use in the morning whilst ensuring your face is nice and clean for the day.

This came from my December Birchbox and I've been trying to regularly mix up what products I am using in my skincare routine in order to continue seeing the best results. I did notice how thick this feels on the skin in comparison to other moisturisers that I have used but I did quite like using this. It is also quite small so it did not take up loads of room like most of my other moisturisers would.

I have had this since April when it arrived in my Birchbox. This was the only product that I brought with me that I was not sure if I was going to use or not. I had an event to go to on Sunday evening and I had not decided if I was going to wear tights or not and if I did not, I wanted to shave my legs and then moisturise them.

As it has turned so cold in the last few days, I decided to stick with the tights so I ended up not using this product but as it is so small, I did not mind that I did not end up using it. That's the handy thing about keeping mostly to travel size!

I love using this to take off my make-up. It's quick, easy and it quite good for the skin. I tend to use one or two cotton pads with this product and that really only depends on how much make-up I have on. I can get all of my make-up off, even mascara with this product, it just takes some patience but you can do it! This is the travel size and I use the normal size at home.

Now of course I had some toothpaste as well. I do not have any preference with toothpaste or what brand is better. I believe this was given to me by one of my parents as a spare to use for travelling but I would have just picked up whatever travel size was available. Sensodyne is a good brand and I know lots of people recommend it for sensitive teeth, I don't use the brand regularly enough but it was a nice toothpaste.

So this concludes my miniature series on what I took this weekend in my toiletries bags. When I am away on holiday during the summer, there are a few more things that I would pack so if you would like to see that in the future, let me know in the comments below!

  1. Great post! Whenever I go travelling you can guarantee I will have forgotten to pack some sort of toiletries and will have to go to the shops to stock up! Making a list before packing does help but I still manage to forget things! That Lush cleanser sounds good I might have to check it out!

    1. I'm glad you liked it! Over the years I have gotten better at packing my toiletries - a tip from one of my work colleagues was to pack at the start of the week before you travel and then throughout the week, if you forgotten something, you are more likely to remember it as you have more time!

  2. I am obsessed with getting my toiletries right when i travel, It's important for my comfort level:) I am also a solid deodorant kind of girl (for me it's the Rexona brand, can't seem to find a suitable replacement). And I use the Garnier water too. Love it.

    1. Solid deodorants are just amazing, I also feel like they are slightly better for the environment as well. Rexona is sold as Sure here in the UK and I've used many of their deodorants as well over the years!

    1. It is really good for both initial cleansing or as a second cleanse say after using a cleansing balm!
