Face
Can you believe it. I’m not using Smashbox Primerizer. I know. Instead, I wanted to try the GLAMGLOW GLOWSTARTER™ Mega Illuminating Moisturiser in Nude Glow which I got in the July Birchbox. It is actually really nice. It has a little shimmer but I didn’t feel like I was caked in it. It does have a little tint but nothing that I really noticed and feels nice on the skin. I think it does come in a few shades, but it might not be too much of a bother.
For concealer, I used my Collection Lasting Perfection. I then used my Benefit Hoola Bronzer. For highlight and blush, I tried something a bit different. In my August Birchbox last year, I received the Dirty Little Secret Eye Shadow Crayon in Fetch and it has sat in my makeup table ever since. I tried it for eyeshadow once and I just did not get on with it. However it can also be used for highlight, and now I love it! It is a gorgeous rose gold, and the shimmer just looks gorgeous in the sunlight. Sadly I have lost the lid, so I have to be careful when storing it! I should really find a lid for it.
I then lightly set my makeup with my MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder.
Eyes
Of course I started with priming my eyes with the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. For eyeshadow, using a Real Techniques brush, I applied the shade Less Is More from the Too Faced Natural Matte palette all across the lid. I wanted to keep the eyeshadow as natural as possible because I wasn’t sure how dark the lip would dry.
I then followed with the Benefit Roller Liner to do my usual cat-eye flick. This is still just as pigmented as when I first used it. In fact, so is the brown which I’ve had longer. For mascara, I am trying out the Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl Mascara which I got in my July Birchbox. So far, I’ve been enjoying it. The brush reminds me of Benefit Roller Lash.
Lips
I first lined my lips with the NYX Suede Matte Lip Pencil in Lavender & Lace. I then used the Elf Liquid Matte Lipstick in Praline. It is more of a brown than it looks in the bottle. It applied really nicely. I would say it has a slightly dry finish, but nothing ridiculously uncomfortable. I would put it in the middle.
What new products have you been trying?
I am always on the lookout for new products! Thank you so much for sharing. :) I may need to take a look at that Too Faced palette.

Praline lip stick sounds wonderful and the moisturizer seems like it would look good.
ReplyDeleteI swear by that concealer! For a lower price concealer, it's a life saver.
