Desert Island Beauty - Makeup Routine

It's not a secret that I own way too much makeup for the average person. If you have read any of my Desert Island Beauty series, I tried to divide up my beauty stash to try and decide what I would take. I also share my makeup routine every Monday on Instagram. Today I thought I would be really strict with myself and share the makeup routine that I would take with me, if I could only take one of each step. If you have seen any of my Monday Instagram posts, you won't be surprised with some of these picks!

Our silky pink primer takes your complexion from dull to darling! Simply blend it on for the look of brighter, smoother skin.

I've recently a post featuring my favourite primers, and to be honest I would happily have chosen any of them. However as I have been using my Benefit That Gal primer the most in the last few months, I thought it would only be fair. It applies really nicely to the skin, and really gives a brighter look to the skin.

Our best-selling concealer. Dot, dab, conceal or contour your way to a flawless finish.. This blogger favourite is smudge-proof, budge-proof and transfer-proof. For coverage that lasts for up to 16-hours.

An iconic of British high-street beauty. This was one of the first concealers I ever tried, and have bought it numerous times ever since. Since then, its changed name, and Collection have brought out a bigger shade range which is great. This is a great concealer, and it is inexpensive too!

This lightweight eye primer is an insider trick of the trade. It creates a seamless canvas that keeps cream and powder color looking brilliant, fresh, and just-applied all day long. No smudging, creasing, or caking.

If you have oily eyelids, hooded eyelids or just have a problem with eyeshadows not lasting - you need this eye primer. I've tried the Urban Decay Primer Potion, and then just using concealer but since using this, I will only use concealer if I am doing a high-street look. Shimmery eyeshadows, not problem, cream eyeshadows, no problem. I won't be using anything else!

Find your perfect eyeshadow palette with Magnif'Eyes Eye Contouring Palette. Available in five colourways, it makes any look possible, whether you love a smokey eye or a bold pop of colour.

Now this was a tough choice. I have a lot of eyeshadow palettes, and often switch between a couple. However the palette that I've had the most use out of this year is this palette. It is one of the best high street beauty products I have tried. With a mix of shimmer, matte, light and dark - I would be able to create a lot of looks with just this palette.

Glide on a natural-looking, fine line with Roller Liner! Our matte liquid eyeliner features a precision felt tip for sharp controlled lines and a super-smooth application that won’t drag or smudge. The quick-dry, waterproof formula lasts 24 hours. It doesn’t fade, flake or smudge so you can let the good times roll all day & night!

Without a doubt my favourite eyeliner. Whilst I've been testing out the Ciaté London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner, if I had to pick between the two - Roller Liner would win every time. It might be a bit pricer than other felt tip liners, but it is honestly the best that I have tried. It lasts for ages, and is very easy to use. I also have the brown version.

It's a roller for lashes! The eye-opening Hook 'n' Roll brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls?while the instant curve-setting formula holds for 12 hours. Contains provitamin B5 and serin, ingredients known for their lash-conditioning benefits.

Mascaras are something that I'm not always bothered about what brand I'm using. However, I am a sucker for Roller Lash. I prefer using the mini size, as I feel I have a little more control with the brush given I have quite short eyelashes. I am also a fan of They're Real and to be honest, if Benefit created a mascara that combined the two - it would be a dream!

Benefit’s award-winning Hoola bronzer is now available in 4 SUNsational shades. All shades feature the same soft, blendable formula and matte finish that made the original Hoola a cult-favourite. The entire Hoola bronzer collection ranges from light to deep so you can sweep on a natural-looking bronze. Comes complete with a built-in mirror and powder brush for a sunless & seamless application.

Probably one of Benefit's most iconic products. I've had this in my collection for years, and whilst I've used other bronzers on and off - I always come back to this one. It is a great bronzer, that can also be used for contour. It is also now available in more shades so hopefully more people can use it. This is definitely the product I want to always be in my collection.

A creamy lipstick formula with a soft cushiony feel, medium-to-full buildable coverage and a satin finish.

If I thought eyeshadow was a tough choice, lipstick would be even harder. I don't even want to think about how many lipsticks I own. I ended up deciding to go with Mocha. It is one of my go-to lipsticks, easy apply, comfortable finish and is perfect for day or night.

Have you tried any of these products?

Ellyn xx
