Beauty & Fashion Haul - August 2019

I don't know about you, but I love a peruse around the shops, even if I've only gone out to grab a replacement deodorant from Boots. But sometimes I get a little distracted and 'accidentally' pick up a few items off the list. I've picked up a few things in the last few weeks and thought I would share them with you. I've got a mixture of makeup, fashion and skincare. I managed to get some serious bargains, both online and in-store. Some of these are sale items but I'll try and link if I can. Let's see what I've picked up!

Fashion

My name is Ellyn and I have a leopard print problem. In the last year, I have gone from no leopard print clothing, to six. I think all I need now is shoes. Wait, I said nothing. I've seen a lot of tops recently with a frill sleeves, both short and vest tops. I've been going through the same tops on a weekly basis, and wanted to get a few more. So it actually looks like I have more than four tops.

It is also leopard print, and only cost £10! This is still available in most sizes so grab it if you can! It is a little flowy, but can still tuck easily into jeans. I can see this being a summer staple in my wardrobe for quite some time.

I've been wanting to get a pair of white jeans for quite some time. In the last few years, I have been very into the straight leg style. So when I saw these white jeans, that have a straight leg cut and were £12 down from £45 - I had to get them. The leopard print top was also paired with white jeans, whilst not this particular pair, it made me want to get white jeans even more.

Not going to lie, I am a little terrified of wearing them and getting them stained. I might be careful where I sit and when I eat or drink, but I'm very excited to wear these so I think I'll cope!

Miss Selfridge Navy Blue Velvet Trousers

Miss Selfridge is one of those shops when I think, "I'll just have a quick look but won't buy anything". Then you find a gorgeous pair of trousers, in your size for under a tenner. It would have been rude not to purchase them. Coincidentally, my copper velvet trousers are also from a Miss Selfridge sale!

This are actually from the petite range, but still work fine for me, if anything makes the leg length a little shorter which I like! They are wide leg, with a slight flare at the bottom. I don't know if I'll get much wear at the moment, but when the cooler weather hits, they'll be out!

Skincare

I had recently run out of a few skincare items, one of which being my Dermalogica toner. After agonising for what seemed like an eternity in the Superdrug aisle, I ended up going with the Simple Soothing toner. It is a great high street skincare product, and it really does feel lovely, soothing and cooling on the skin.

I picked up another bottle of the Simply Pure moisturiser. I have been using a sample pot of the Peter Thomas Roth Hungarian Moisturiser, but I decided to go back to this moisturiser as it does have an SPF. Whilst SPF in makeup/skincare is no way near the same protection level as a seperate SPF, every little helps. If I am going to be out all day in the sun, I would use a seperate SPF as well. But for an everyday moisturiser, that offers some protection but still feels light, this is great.

Another Superdrug skincare line that I like is their Vitamin E range. In the last few weeks, I finished my Balance Me eye cream. Now I always found that eye cream was associated with 'anti-ageing', which is not something I like. However, using an eye cream has been lovely, it feels very soothing on my eyes and gives that extra hydration.

Makeup

I'm not going to say too much about these as I am planning a 'First Impressions' blog post for these which will be coming on Sunday. I've seen a few adverts for these, and I am a big fan of the Matte Inks and as I did a first impressions for them, I thought I would do one for these. I chose a 'nude' and a red. More on these on Sunday!

When I bought the Maybelline lip crayons in Boots, if you spent over £12, you received a 'Lip Prep Kit'. This included a lip exfoliator and a lip balm in this bright 80's looking hot pink pouch. Not going to lie, the exfoliator looks more like my brush cleaner tool, but I'll give it a go!

What have you picked up recently?
