Plan With Me - August 2019

I have written a few blog posts about my bullet journal, my essentials and how I plan. Whilst I don't recreate diary-like spreads, I still love watching all plan with me videos on YouTube. Despite having done a planning post, I thought I would show you step-by-step, me creating my blogging/Instagram plan for August. This might be a bit repetitive if you did read the planning post, but I do have a new planning page, and let's be honest, most plan with me's are the same every month. Just with a different colour scheme! Let's get planning.

As I mentioned before my planning structure is inspired by Anna Newton, but with a touch of colour, mainly inspired by Amanda Rach Lee. I still love watching her planning spreads every month. This month, I went with a gold colour scheme. Of course, I am still using my Leuchtturm1917 Notepad Dotted A5

The Tools

- Biro

I start with drawing out all the boxes. I draw out 8 boxes using my the Sakura Pigma Micron PN. The boxes start from the seventh dot from the left, and end seven dots from the right. They are three dots in height. For the first three boxes on the left page, I fill them in with my Tombow Fudeonsuke. For the last double page, I fill in the box on the right.

I will then go back to each spread and draw on a drop shadow to each box. This is the main thing that I have kept from recreating Amanda's spreads. For the first six spreads, I use just the Tombow 206 alone, but for the last spread, I actually draw out the drop shadow it the Sakura PN. I leave the first box blank, as I colour in the box and fill in the second with the chosen colour.

Once all the 'base' ink has dried, I write out all the titles. On the black boxes, I use the Uniball Signo Broad gel pen in white. On the blank and gold boxes, I use the Sakura PN. My pages are Blog Plan, Blog Ideas, Instagram Plan (I shorten it to Insta to fit), Instagram Ideas, IGTV Plan, IGTV Ideas, Blog Stats, Instagram Stats.

IGTV is my newest exploration in my blogging life. I am still working on some videos to include. If there is anything you would like to see, let me know.

The final thing I do is fill out the spread. For this I just use an ordinary biro. For each spread (excluding stats), I have the date and days on the month down the plan page. At the top right, one row above the first day, I write in my checkboxes. I mentioned what I have in the planning post. This was before IGTV plan spread arrived. For that spread I include Filmed, Edited, Posted.

On my Instagram spread, I divide my ideas page into Makeup, Fashion and Lifestyle. For blog and IGTV, I just fill out my ideas one after the other.

If you liked this post, let me know and I might do this every month. I tested out a IGTV plan with me last month, but I did not like how it turned out so I am still working on it. We'll see what happened.

What are your plans for August?

Ellyn xx

  1. I love Amanda Rach Lee's videos, I don't copy it every single month but I do enjoy planning alongside her videos. I love having a double spread for blog planning, I write a list of all my ideas on one side and then my actual plan with dates on the other side. Bullet Journalling is all about finding what works for you!
