How I Style Midi Skirts

Midi skirts are my ultimate essential piece of summer clothing. Not having to worry about the wind blowing it up, but still keeping you cool and of course, looking fabulous. Although the weather this month has been all across the board, this week is going to be hot, hot, hot. So I thought this would be the perfect time to show how I style my midi skirts. Now I know not everyone will have these exact skirts, but I think you could still follow the general ideas. Let’s get started!

Casual Outfits

The easiest way to make a midi skirt look casual is a pair of trainers. I wear my Stan Smiths to death. I only really wear sandals on holiday (other than my heeled pair), so trainers are my go to casual shoe. I also tend to stick with standard t-shirts, especially my H&M quote top, ASOS black top and my collection of Jack Wills tops. These three also tuck nicely into skirts and jeans. I prefer to tuck tops into skirts, rather than on top or with a cropped top. I have seen other people pair them with cropped tops and it looks great.

Evening Outfits

Just like the trainers worked to keep midi skirt looks casual, fancier shoes make a fancier outfit. During the summer months, I like to wear my heeled sandals to smarten up an outfit, and if I don’t want to wear trainers! I also prefer to pair the skirts with some of my more smart looking vest tops.

I wear a lot of the casual outfits on repeat, all of those came from my Instagram outfits which I post on Fridays. It's finally warm enough to start wearing a lot of these evening outfits now. I love the black top and skirt combination, almost looks like it is one dress!

Do you like midi skirts?

  1. I've been loving midi skirts lately. I have found it sort of hard to find tops to go with them sometimes though. I dont necessarily like tucking my shirts in so it's a problem lol

  8. I love wearing midi skirts during the summer, especially the loose flowy ones. I really like how you style the casual look. I’ve never really paired it with trainers before so I’m going to try that! X

  9. I love how you've styled these and can make them look so casual. I'm really short so I struggle with them a little bit to find the right proportions x
