My October Goals

It’s a cliche but I cannot believe that we are in October and heading towards the end of 2018. I really feel like the year has flown by! Before I start talking about my goals for the month, I just have to say - Happy Mean Girls Day! Not only is it October 3rd (which as a British person, feels weird to write it that way around) but it’s a Wednesday! So of course I am wearing pink today! Anyway, back to October. I have some posts that I am excited to share, some seasonally themed, and one which I am hoping will be really interesting to write and read. Let’s stop blabbering and get on with the goals!

october, goals, october goals, blogging, makeup, lifestyle

So last month’s goals, I’m not sure I achieved a lot of them. I did not read another book. I did not do any fashion posts and I did not get back into fitness. Whilst I did grow my social media a little, and I did post all the blog posts, although not all on time. Oh well. It is giving me more motivation to continue. I think I will continue to pursue a lot of last month’s goals into this month, but there are specific ones I want to target.

Blogging Goals

Hit 400 Followers On Instagram

I have mentioned in my two previous goals posts that I have been wanting to increase my social media following, but it is on Instagram where I am most determined. I have been close to 400 followers for a few months now and every time I get a bit closer, my follower count drops. So I am now more determined than ever. If you don’t follow me already on Instagram, click here - I post most days, mainly excluding Saturday but I do try!

I have also found through work some online seminars about Instagram, how to use it for your business etc., so I am going to watch some of these to see if they can improve, not only my following but also my social media in general.

Increase my blog views

In 2017, I would say at least 80% of my blog posts would hit 300 views. However this year, there was a sudden dip and at the moment, my posts take over a month to get 200. For any blogger I’m sure, a drop in views is worrying. I have started to doubt if people like my content, was I being followed by ‘bots’ like you can on Instagram. So this month I am being a bit more strategic with my planning.

As well as doing all of my ‘usual’ monthly posts, I have looked at what is popular right now, what days are coming up that I can incorporate into a post and just do all I can to spread the word out there. If you have any advice for overcoming a blog slump, I am all ears!

Personal Goals

Get Some Workouts Done This Month

Like I said in the last month, at the start of the summer, fitness and I were doing alright. I have never been and never will be a fitness fanatic, but I was running, going to my weekly dance classes and throwing in the odd at home workout too. Whilst I did visit the gym once on holiday, since then I have not done much else fitness-wise, although my dance classes have started back up again. I think in the summer time it is easier to find that motivation to get back into fitness, but in the cooler months.. It is quite easy to do nothing.

I think I am going to start with getting at least one workout alongside my dance classes a week to get me back in the swing of things. Then hopefully I can build it up.

Actually read a book

I am still failing miserably at this goal. It’s just so annoying. Even using my Kindle has not helped as I have instead got back into a game which I only had on that device.. Which is now on my iPad as well. I think if I instead set the goal at reading one book, I am hoping it will be easier to achieve. If you have any book recommendations, let me know.

So those are the goals for the month, short and sweet but as I mentioned earlier, I am planning to continue a lot of the posts from the previous month as well.

What are your goals for the month?

  1. I am trying to get more workouts in, not to lose weight or tone up but for my own mental health, I think exercise is an incredible stress release! xx

  2. Good luck with your goals! If you find a book you really enjoy then I'm sure you'll manage to get through it as you won't want to put it down! What type of genre do you like reading?
