June Birchbox: Birchbox's 5th Birthday

June has arrived and it is finally started to warm up. Obviously the start of a new month means another Birchbox post. This month marks Birchbox's 5th birthday! Happy Birthday! To celebrate, rather than its traditional cardboard box packaging, this month's products are packaged in this gorgeous blue floral tin. Perfect for picnics or storing your favourite chocolate biscuits! There is only one brand that I have not heard of this month, but they are all products that I have not tried. They are however all products that I cannot wait to try and will hopefully get a lot of use out of in the next few months! Let's have a peek!

Ella Eden Compact Eyeshadow in Faith
Who said mineral eyeshadows had to be time-consuming? This pressed version combines intense colour pay-off with long-lasting wear for the ultimate everyday eyeshadow. Dust the cruelty-free formula all over lids for daytime wear or apply with a wet brush to make a bolder statement.
This was the product where we could choose what shade we wanted. This month, we could either have this shade Faith, or a paler nude-pink shade Julia. Now I forgot to choose in time, so I received a random choice and I got Faith! Sadly, mine arrived shattered but hopefully Birchbox will be able to send me another one. I like my brown eyeshadows and I have not heard of this brand before so it will be interesting to try.

Benefit POREfessional Pearl Primer
Featuring the same oil-free, lightweight texture as Benefit’s original POREfessional primer, this brand new formula contains an added dose of soft pearly pink pigment. The result? A brighter, smoother, more awake complexion.
Benefit is one of my all-time favourite brands so I was super excited to see this inside my box. I like the original POREfessional formula but I am also enjoying illuminating products so it will be interesting to see how this new one compares. It might even be the perfect primer for me!

Number 4 Jour d'automne Smoothing Balm
For the time-crunched multitaskers out there, this balm is the faster equivalent of a hair mask. Whether you have dry, frizz-prone, or coarse hair, the hardworking formula simultaneously minimizes frizz, gives hair a soft, touchable texture, and even protects against humidity and heat damage. The secret? Tiny molecules that pierce deep into each strand of hair, giving you smoothness in a snap.
I am always up for trying new products as I think it is important to mix things up so your hair does not get too used to the same products, leaving the intended effect null and void. As I have thick and frizzy hair, a smoothing balm sounds perfect. Going into the hotter months, I need a hair care routine that is quick and easy so the fact that this also acts as a heat protectant is great.

Polaar Velvety Sun Fluid Face & Body SPF30
We love a multi-tasker, especially on our holidays! This velvety formula offers high UVA and UVB protection, fighting sunburn and premature ageing. Plus, a blend of soybean and sunflower oils leaves skin feeling silky smooth.
As I've mentioned in previous skincare posts, looking after your skin in the hotter months is absolutely vital. However, some sun creams should not be used on the face. I would like to incorporate a daily SPF into my skincare routine so I am excited to give this a go. As it is designed for the face and body, I am hoping it feels nice and light on the skin, but still offers sufficient protection.

amika Bombshell Blowout Spray
As the saying goes, a jack of all trades is typically a master of none. Not so for amika's Bombshell Blowout spray. The lightweight spray works on both damp and dry hair to give you the perfect blowout, protecting, nourishing, smoothing, and volumising hair. We apply it to damp strands before blow-drying to provide heat protection, texture, and lift. It also serves as a light hold mist for dry hair and can facilitate re-styling.
We all want to have that perfect blow-dry hair, but achieving that yourself can be tricky - but that does not mean you can't have some of the benefits. This seems like an amazing hair product, and in conjunction with the smoothing balm, I should have beautifully smooth and nourished hair all summer!

Whittard of Chelsea Teabags (Earl Grey, Mango & Bergamont and Lemon & Ginger)
This June, we’re so excited to announce that it’s our 5th birthday here in the UK. To celebrate, we’re channelling the most British of occasions- the tea party, which wouldn’t be complete without a good cuppa! We’ve included an extra treat inside every keepsake tin this month from quintessentially British brand Whittard, so you an discover the perfect brew! Featuring Earl Grey, Mango & Bergamot, and Lemon & Ginger.
As an extra celebration of Birchbox's birthday, we were all given an extra treat of three teabags from Whittard of Chelsea. This is a quintessential British brand and if you are a tea lover, you have to visit one of their stores. Whenever I pass my local store, the window displays are just absolutely gorgeous and amazed at the variety of  flavours of tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

So that's what was in my gorgeous little Birchbox tin! I will definitely be putting this to good use, it looks a good size for storing yummy treats!
