Outfit Of The Day: Brighton

Gingham is the fashion pattern of the season. It is absolutely everywhere! After seeing Olivia Purvis sport some gorgeous gingham trousers, I knew I had to get my hands on some! Although I did not get the same trousers as Liv, they are both from Topshop and they have so many more gingham trousers and other gingham-patterned items. I have had so many compliments from people of all different ages on these trousers and I absolutely love them! I knew when I was planning ahead for blog posts I could get out from the day trip to Brighton that I had to do an outfit feature with these trousers so here it is!

Jacket: Noisy May
T-Shirt: Jack Wills
Trousers: Topshop
Shoes: Adidas Stan Smiths (old)
Bag: Topshop
We spent the morning and lunchtime walking around the shops, exploring the laines and going down to the beach front and trying our luck in the penny machines on the pier. After having our hot drink and cake break, we went down to Brighton Pavilion to walk round the gardens and take some more pictures. If you are not familiar with Brighton Pavilion, it's architecture is inspired by India and was built for George IV whilst he was still the Prince of Wales. It also served as a military hospital during the First World War. The gardens are absolutely stunning and I love the old style lamp posts that feature.

As we were in Brighton for most of the day, it was important to me that my outfit was comfortable as well as looking good. Even though the weather was nice, I did not want to wear sandals as we would be walking for so much of the day that I opted for my super comfortable Stan Smiths. The Topshop trousers are also really comfortable to wear and despite having white in the fabric, it is not see-through so you don't have to constantly worry about what underwear to wear.

So this is what I war on the day trip to Brighton. It was a super simple outfit but you get a lot of interest from the frill hem on the trousers and the pop of colour from the red bag. Hope you liked this post and leave any feedback or requests in the comments!
