Makeup Of The Day: Brighton

Although I don't tend to change my eye makeup that often as I tend to find a routine that I like and then stick to it; when we went to Brighton, I decided to switch up my makeup routine. I kept my overally style of makeup the same but changed up the finish of the eyeshadow and some of the products. I went with a gold and glowy routine as I felt like it kind of fitted with a trip to the seaside. I promise that this is my last blog post out of my trip to Brighton but I really did like planning wise being able to get a few blog posts planned in advance. If you are aged between 16-25 and live in the UK, then you should really get your hands on the rail card as we were able to get our ticket really cheap!

Eyes:
I started my eye makeup as I would usually do with applying a little bit of concealer to act as a base. I then applied some bronzer in my crease. Now for my main eyeshadow, I did still use my Urban Decay Naked palette but I used different shades. I applied a base of Half Baked which is a gorgeous gold shade, a then touched my brush into Smog which is a coppery bronze shade and then blended that on top. I then did my usual eyeliner, I am still using my Soap&Glory eyeliner but it is starting to run out out if you have any recommendations I would love to hear them! I then finished up my eyes with some mascara!

Face:
The face look started actually before I did my eye makeup and that was my primer step using the Hourglass Mineral Veil. I then went back and finished my eye makeup. I really wanted to emphasise glowy skin so I applied a mixture of Benefit High Beam and the L'Oreal Paris True Match Highlight Liquid Glow Illuminator in Golden Glow blended together and my cheekbones and the other high points on my face. I have now realised that I did forget to put in my concealer but I did use it and it was the Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer under my eyes.

I then used my Bourjois powder again for its actual purpose as bronzer. I then used the Benefit Sugarbomb boxed blush to add some colour to my cheeks. To further the glow even more, I used some of theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer on all the places I put the liquid highlighter. I then set the centre of my face with my Natural Collection Pressed Powder which I found again recently and I really like using it again!

Lips
For lips, I kept it slightly more on the neutral and calm side. I lined my lips with the Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Pencil in Eastend Snob and filled it in completely to further help with longevity. I then followed up with the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paint in Hollywood Beige.

So that is it - no more Brighton posts! I do hope you enjoyed reading them all and I would definitely recommend visiting Brighton whenever you have the chance! I would love to explore other parts of the UK so if you have any recommendations of places to visit and what to do there then please let me know in the comments!

  3. I have never tried the Bourjois bronzing powder before, but I have heard so much about it. Every time I go into Superdrug it always stares at me, and I really want to get it but I never end up getting it. I am going to have to try it though!! I also followed you on Bloglovin, I have just got it started! Instagram and twitter!!!
