Soap&Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks: Mini Review

It is no secret that I am not a fan of lip-gloss. I was given the Soap&Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks set for Christmas and I will admit that I wasn't sure if I would get much use out of them. Whilst I am a fan of 'lip crayons' in general, I have always stayed away from the more glossy formulas because I don't like lipglosses. However, I did decide to give these a go as they were a gift and I was pleasantly surprised!

When it comes to glossy formulas, my biggest pain with them is the sticky feeling. I find it very uncomfortable to wear and as I have a side fringe so I have had many 'hair in lipgloss' moments. It was these reasons that I presumed that I would not like these either. However, because it is a 'stick' rather than a liquid gloss, the texture feels much better than traditional lip glosses. It still has a little stickiness which all gloss formulas are going to have but it is ten-times better than any lip gloss formula I have ever tried.

What I also like about these gloss sticks is the subtle colour pay off. Both the pink shade 'Pink-A-Boo' and the purple shade 'Purple Rain' both add a subtle hint of colour to the lips without being too in your face. The nude shade 'Nudist' does not add much colour to the lips but adds a little something with a nice shine! The reason it looks very pigmented in my swatches is the lid came off in one of my bags and the stick melted a bit - don't worry, the bag was very easy to clean!

Unsurprisingly it does not have the best lasting power but that is to be expected with pretty much all gloss formulations both in stick and liquid form. Therefore it a great choice to use if you are going out and just want to add a little bit of something to your lips and don't want to go through putting on lip-liner and lipstick.
