If anyone is interested in makeup expiration dates, this post from besthealthmag.ca lists expiration dates for a wide variety of makeup products (including creams and powders).

To be honest, I could probably have taken a picture of my entire eyeshadow section of my makeup collection because despite having a reasonable amount, I really don't wear a lot of eyeshadow. I chose these three palettes because they are definitely the oldest palettes that I have, and in turn, some of the very oldest of all my eyeshadows. To give you an idea, the Sleek Monaco palette was limited edition and it came out in 2011, and I had the Urban Decay palette before that. I cannot remember whether I got the Sleek Original palette before or after the Urban Decay palette but I am sure it was also around 2010-2011. I would have thrown them out sooner, but I still like to occasionally play around with makeup and these are the only 'colour' palettes that I have. Also, all of these shadows still have great pigmentation and they do not smell bad and I haven't had any kind of reaction when using them.

Lipstick was the first beauty product that I became obsessed with. Before I even had a beauty blog, I had enough lipsticks where I could wear a different one for every day of a month. Now because I have quite a few, it is not surprising that many have surpassed their expiration date as they often get hidden within the masses. You can tell how old the Rimmel lipstick is, because not only do they not make this shade anymore, it is also in the old Moisture Renew packaging. The Barry M lipsticks no longer have the numbers on the bottom and I have definitely had these since high school which I finished in 2011. Just like the eyeshadow palettes, whilst these are some of the oldest lipsticks, they are definitely also a representative of many of lipsticks in my collection.

I'm going to make this short and sweet because I have talked about all these polishes in the nail polish collection post. Similarly to the Rimmel lipstick, the Rimmel nail polish is also that old that it is still in the old packaging. Also I purchased both the other nail polishes from TK Maxx so they were already old when I bought them and I have had them for at least two years now.

Mascara is probably the beauty product I am worst at replacing in relation to its expiration date. I always use any mascara until it is all completely dried up and with most mascaras, that is definitely more than three months. I have probably used all of these mascaras since the start of 2017 and over half of them were bought before 2016 ended. I think I find it hard to throw mascaras away after three months when I still feel like the formula has not dried out or stopped working its best. I normally only buy mascaras when I want to try one out, not because I need a new one.
