March Birchbox - International Women's Day

Happy International Women's Day! Not that we deserve just one day! Just like last year, this month's box celebrates IWD. Celebrating and empowering women of the past, present and future is so important. I went to an all girls' school and we were really encouraged to push ourselves to be successful. It was even in our school motto. Let's continue to celebrate all the women in our lives, remember those incredible women in our past and empower the women of the future.. and why not treat yourself too! Beautiful Birchbox goodies for beautiful women? I think so!

Forgive Me Suzie Liquid Eyeshadow - Fairy Dust

More fun than matte (but more grown-up than glitter!), these long-lasting metallic eyeshadows make it easy to create a statement look that lasts. The creamy, lightweight formula buffs out easily with a brush or your fingers, and the versatile shades stay put without creasing or smudging.

I am a stickler for matte eyeshadows, so the opening line of the product description intrigues me! I haven’t used too many liquid eyeshadows before, but I would like to experiment more with my makeup. This brand is exclusive to Birchbox, however for some reason I could not find it on the website.

Just like your favourite wing woman, this eyeliner will give you all the confidence you need. No matter the look you're going for - flirty flick, cat eye or a simple line - the deep black formula will help you define your eyes the way you want without any fuss (read: no flaking or smudging that could throw you off).

The Beauty Crop is a very underrated beauty brand. I’ve tried so many products through Birchbox and I’ve enjoyed every one. Eyeliner is a staple part of my makeup routine, and I love trying new ones. Right now, my two favourites are the Benefit Roller Liner and Ciaté London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner so it does have a lot to live up to. It does have a much smaller tip than the other two, so it might be better for those who prefer a thinner eyeliner look. I’ll give it a go!

Brighten up your beauty routine with a daily dose of vitamin C in the form of this innovative serum. Formulated to combat signs of ageing and minimise fine lines, it also works to fade pigmentation and counter sun damage with hydrating hyaluronic acid and calming Melavoid™. It sinks in fast to brighten and firm your skin, leaving it feeling hydrated and smooth with a radiant glow.

There are a lot of ingredients that I often hear in other people’s skincare routines, or from experts. One I hear a lot but don’t actually have in my routine is Vitamin C. Spring is on the way, and that means a lot of us will be wanting the glow! I am interested to see what impact Vitamin C has on my skin. Also it’s got the hyaluronic acid that I love!

The perfect sidekick to your shower gel, this environmentally-friendly soy sponge helps you customise (and improve!) your bathtime routine. Not just cute but also clever, it comes with a soft, gentle side as well as a textured side for more thorough exfoliation.

Like I said above, spring is approaching which means hopefully warmer weather and I’ll be back to wearing my dresses and skirts without tights. This is when I am best with exfoliating my body. I also like that this will reduce plastic in the bathroom as well because you can just use it with your shower gel. One less product in the bathroom!

This lightweight instant tanner delivers an effortless golden glow to your face and body. Apply for all-over illumination, use sparingly to highlight collarbones and cheekbones, or mix a little with your favourite moisturiser. Remember to wait until you’re touch dry to get dressed (it’s quick drying!).

I don’t really use any tanning products that much, I tan quite well naturally when on holiday, and to be honest, I’m still a little nervous to try fake tanning. Even though I’ve got a complete set. From the outset, it reminds me of the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs which I have used in the past. I’ll see how it goes.

Have you tried any of these products?

Ellyn xx
