December Birchbox - Ready, Set, Glam

I can't believe that it is time for the last Birchbox post of 2019! This month, we received our goodies in this gorgeous velvet bag! It is the perfect size to use as a clutch, or a travel makeup bags. I love the combination of the navy bag with the pink star and zip. Navy and pink is a surprisingly good colour combination which I would never before put together, but in the last year or so I think it really has grown on me. Lots of the goodies this month are perfect for getting ready for the festive season! Let's see what's inside.

My December Birchbox featuring a variety of hair, skincare and makeup products

This sleek, Birchbox-exclusive eyeshadow palette hosts five autumnal shades, ranging from a striking red-brown and dusky rose to a warm copper. 100% cruelty free and vegan, the velvety-soft matte, metallic and shimmer shadows leave you spoilt for choice and are perfect for party season (and beyond!).

This was the product that we got to choose between two shades. I decided to go with Eye Swear which had more warm, reddish shades. As two of my favourite eyeshadow palettes include the Urban Decay Naked Heat and Rimmel Magnif'eyes Spice Palette. This seems like a great palette as it has a variety of mattes and shimmers. It is also cruelty-free and vegan so everyone can use it!

The perfect partner to any of your eyeshadow palettes, our very own vegan and cruelty-free brush can be used to add depth and definition, and will blend and blur shadows together seamlessly and evenly. The soft, densely packed bristles make it ideal for use with both cream and powder formulas (aka a must-have in any makeup kit!).

I mentioned in my beauty routines post that I am rubbish at regularly cleaning my makeup brushes. It feels quite ironic to then receive another eyeshadow brush in my Birchbox! I've got another angled fluffy brush like this and they are really useful. You can use them to blend and apply eyeshadow in a variety of places. It is also vegan and cruelty-free!

Suitable for both face and body, this 2-in-1 soap sponge combines a radiance-boosting cleanser with a gentle exfoliator so you can skip a step in your routine (and the shower). Expect to feel satisfyingly squeaky clean after using, as the mother of pearl purifies and boosts skin's texture.

I recieved the Multi-Functional Charcoal Soap Sponge in my October Birchbox from last year. To be honest, I haven't actually used it but this particular version sounds more suitable. I'm not sure if I would actually use it on the face, but more as a body exfoliator.

Like a sheet mask for your hair, this thermal treatment helps to heal damaged locks, soothe irritated scalps and seal split ends. Powered by natural ingredients like blueberry, blackberry and sea kelp extracts, it leaves hair soft, silky and shiny.

I love a good hair mask and this sounds really intriguing. I've tried out sheet face masks before, but one for your hair sounds interesting! However, I do have a lot of hair so I'm not sure if it will fit - might have to wrap it round just the ends! It is also cruelty-free.

We’ve always wondered what it would be like to bathe in a tub of liquid gold, and this is probably as close as we’ll ever get. This pot of shimmering oil was created to not only give your body and hair a glittering glow, but also moisturise, smooth and soften your skin and strands - hello golden goddess! Plus, it's entirely vegan and cruelty free!

I am verye xcited to tru this out. It reminds me of when you using chalk or wash-out colour spray on your hair as a kid. I also think this would look beautiful on a variety of hair colours, I have quite dark brown hair, and my sister is more of a mid-tone, and I think it would look nice on both. I'm hoping it blends easily and doesn't look like stripes.

Great foundation requires a great foundation. And this gel primer creates a plump, hydrated canvas to layer your makeup on. The velvety formula not only helps to keep your makeup on lockdown, but it also adds subtle radiance, absorbs excess oil and softens any imperfections.

I always do my makeup with a primer, and as a makeup lover, I'm always interested in trying out new ones. From the premise, this sounds like a combination between a few of my existing primers. It will be interesting to see if it all works together.

Made using the finest ingredients and absolutely no bad stuff, these vegan-friendly gummy sweets are gluten-free and made from natural flavours, colours and real fruit juice. Plus, they make the perfect gift (or personal pick-me-up - no judgment here!).

As it is December, the Birchbox team also included some Candy Kitten sweets to share.. but let's be honest, most of us would not be sharing. I used to watch Made In Chelsea, in which the founder Jamie Laing (who is also the heir to McVitie's), so I've known about the brand for years now but not actually tried. These remind me of the pic'n'mix strawberry sweets, but this are also

Have you tried any of these products?

Ellyn xx
