The 'theme' I suppose for the overall look was warm, to stand out against but also go with the red and navy in the outfit.
Makeup
To prime my skin, of course I went with my current favourite - Benefit That Gal. For my eyes, I wanted to go with a warm eye to go with the navy and red. After priming my eyes with my NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, I started with the fourth shade along (the one you can see in the picture above I use the most!) from my Rimmel Magnif'Eyes Spice Edition. all over the eye and into the crease. Now when I took this picture, I was only going to use the Rimmel palette. However when it got down to actually doing it, I ended up patting some of the Barry M Dazzle Dust in Bronze. I then did my usual eyeliner with Benefit Roller Liner and used Roller Lash for mascara.
For the rest of my face, I used Collection Lasting Perfection for my under-eye concealer. For blush I used the NARS Super Orgasm Blush and set it all with Natural Collection Matte Pressed Powder. Obviously I had to go with a red lip, so I chose my L'Oreal Rouge Signature Matte in I Am Worth It.
Fashion
I wore this outfit for my Friday outfit Instagram the Friday before last and I really loved how it turned out so I wanted to wear it again. I have been wanting to experiment more with outfits so this was a great example.
The top is actually a Miss Selfridge Polka Dot mini wrap dress (see similar here) which I decided to wear as a shirt/top by tucking it into my favourite H&M jeans (see similar here.) To help make sure the dress stayed tucked it, I also wore my H&M 'Gucci' belt. And of course the pièce de résistance, these gorgeous red boots from Topshop! (See similar here.) Rocking the modern-day street style Dorothy!
What is your current favourite 'going out-out' look?
