Crumbs & Doilies - The Best Bakery Ever!

It is no secret that I am obsessed with Crumbs & Doilies. I would happily spend every day there eating as much cake as I could. Crumbs & Doilies was founded by Jemma Wilson (aka Cupcake Jemma) as a stand at a Sunday market. Since then it has evolved to a fully fledged bakery, with its own store in Soho. It is one of my go-to visit places when I'm in Central London. As I love it so much, I thought I'd write a post all about it - hopefully convincing you to visit!

Variety of flavours

As well as having the 'standard' cake flavours, Crumbs & Doilies also offers a huge variety of unusual flavours. My absolute favourite being the Velvet Volcano - a combination of red velvet, oreos and cookie dough! They also have cakes inspired by other desserts, treats or themes such as Lemon Meringue Pie, Smores or Unicorn

Even in brownies and tray bakes there are a huge amount of flavours. Regular brownie, to cookie dough brownie to oreo rocky road. If you visit the store in Soho, the menu changes everyday so you should be able to try something new everytime!

Cakes for everyone!

One of the other things I love about C&D is that you can order gluten-free and vegan cakes too. In the store, there is always a couple gluten-free and vegan options. Many flavours are available in these options, so you are not compromising on the amazing designs and flavour combinations - you are just getting the appropriate version for you or your guests' diet!

Make them at home!

I first found C&D through Jemma's YouTube channel. Every week she (or members of the team such as Sally or Dane) share a video. This could be a recipe, masterclass or a bakery tour. Sometimes, Jemma will treat us with a C&D official recipe, which considering this is her business - is extremely generous. Meaning anyone can have a taste of C&D wherever they live!

Every recipe I have tried has been absolutely delicious! Jemma also has a book which she launched in collaboration with Jamie Oliver's FoodTube. This also features a huge variety of recipes including basics and decorations (including how to make salted caramel!)

What is your favourite cake flavour?
