Empties - June 2019

I used to love watching empties videos on YouTube. I think it the most accurate way to find out someone's views on a product. As I am sure like many others, I go through various phases with different products, but I don't always finish them or I just move onto something else. However this month I finished a few products and I decided I would write up an empties post. I don't know how regular this type of post might be but I will do it when I have at least 5. Last month I mainly finished up some skincare products.

Simply Pure Hydrating Serum is designed to replenish and nourish sensitive skin. Enriched with calming Soothex and a fortifying Ceramide Blend, this hydrating formula helps to improve skin’s natural elasticity and suppleness for a smoother, more radiant complexion.

I really love this serum. I am using a few serums at the moment in replace of this, but to be honest once I finish those, I will be bringing this back! I have used this on and off for a few years now and I just keep coming back to it. For only £2.99, you get incredible hydration, it feels lovely on the skin and it lasts for a long time! The serum is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans and is cruelty free.

Simply Pure Hydrating Night Serum is designed to provide overnight nourishment to uncomfortable and sensitive skin. With calming Soothex™ and moisturising Hyaluronic Acid, this formula will help leave your skin feeling soft and smooth in the morning.

I bought this when trying to establish a proper nighttime skincare routine, and as I knew how much I love the original serum, I had a good feeling about the night serum. If you think the day serum is hydrating, this is twice that! There have been some days when I have needed some extra hydration in the morning so I've used this. If I've been in a rush to get to bed, I would just use this.

Simply Pure Light Emulsion Moisturiser with SPF 15 is designed to provide hydration to uncomfortable and sensitive skin. With conditioning Pro-Vitamin B5 and calming Soothex™, this formula will help leave your skin feeling soft and nourished.

I have tried the Rich version of this moisturiser, but I definitely prefer this one. Sometimes I find moisturisers with SPF can feel heavy, but this does feel light but I still feel like I am getting some protection. The only complaint (and it's teeny) is that the dispenser does spit out quite a lot of product, often a little more than I actually needed. However I still really like this moisturiser.

Naturally soothing and rich in nutrients, this tonic helps to tone, balance pH, minimize redness and calm skin. Rehydrates, replenishes and refreshes.

This is the second skincare product that I have tried from Pixi (the first being Glow Tonic). I was given this as a gift from work (not from Pixi) and I have been using it as a second toner after using an exfoliating toner. It smells really nice - shocker, I like something rose scented. For non-regular readers, that was sarcasm, rose is my obsession. At the moment I have two 'soothing'/second step toners to get through so I won't be repurchasing it at the moment, but I would buy it again.

Will I Repurchase - Not right now

Smashbox Studio Skin 24 Hour Waterproof Concealer

Makeup artists in our L.A. photo studio call this new concealer a magic wand because it makes any skin imperfection disappear—and stays put for 24 hours. Waterproof and moisturising, the creamy formula blends flawlessly without creasing, caking or settling. Forget about midday touch-ups or makeup fatigue. It’s time to be full-on flawless.

I love Smashbox. I still use my Primerizer virtually every time I do my makeup. I got this concealer at the event they did with Anna Newton and Lily Pebbles. I only really use concealer for under my eyes and it felt comfortable and lasted well. I'm not sure about 24 hours, but for a day's wearing it lasted well. I've still got other concealers to use, and it is double the price but I wouldn't never buy it again. We'll see!

Will I Repurchase - Maybe

What have you used up this month?

  2. I love the Superdrug Simply Pure products, I haven't tried the Night Serum yet but I'm definitely going to give it a go when I need a new one! I've always loved empties videos too, so much more useful to be able to review products rather than something like a haul
