Spring Beauty Picks - A Touch of Pink

Whilst it might not be showing in the weather, March is technically the start of spring. Beauty-wise, spring epitomises fresh skin, pastel shades before the bright hits of summer. I love switching up my makeup routines in the different seasons, it feels just like when you switch out your clothes. Whether you are adding in new products, and bringing back old faithfuls, a fresh set of 'supplies' is great for giving yourself a new look. In today's post, I am going to talk about three of the products that I want to be using this spring, some new and some old. All with a common theme, a touch of pink!

Before I start, I wanted to say that this picks are tailored towards my skin tone and taste, but I would recommend all these products which you can get in other shades so hopefully, there is a shade for you.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked

I mentioned in a previous post that I’ve pretty much mastered my own way of achieving the beautiful glowy skin you see all over Instagram. Whilst it is easy to achieve with cream products, it was proving almost impossible to get the same look with powders. Until now.

The Hourglass Ambient powders were one of the first powders that changed the view that powders were for mattifying the skin, who knew that they could give you glow! Now that I’ve tried these powders, I can really see why they have been so popular within the beauty community. Out of this palette, my two favourite shades are the bronzer, and one of the original powders. Sadly this palette is discontinued but now there is a Hourglass counter in my local department store, I would repurchase the individual powders.

Leighton Denny Nail Polish in Rural Sunset
Spring nail colours are probably my favourite shades to wear on my nails. Especially pastels. However one shade that I was drawn too recently was Rural Sunset from the Leighton Denny Heritage Collection. I would call it a pastel coral. It’s not too bright so still fits the spring theme but adds a hint of summer to the nails as well.

Alongside OPI and Essie, Leighton Denny is one of my most used nail polish brands, and I’d like to see them shown off more as I think they are really nice!

The Melted Mattes have been the newest additions to my liquid lipstick wardrobe, with Child Star being the most recent. As I said in my last post, I saw this in a vlog of Jessie from sunbeamsjess and instantly wanted it. However a lot of other people clearly felt the same and it was really difficult to get hold off. I recently watched back those old videos and it reignited my desire for it and I managed to find it in stock on Selfridges’ website.

It is a little paler than my usual lipsticks, but thankfully not enough to give me concealer lips. Not a good look. I would recommend trying the Melted Mattes, especially if you are not a fan of drier formulas.

What are your spring beauty picks?

  3. I've used OPI for years but I haven't heard of Leighton Denny before for polishes! That's a beautiful shade though, I really love wearing pastels in spring as well.
