My Favourite Blushes

I really like a peachy-pink blush. I think it matches my skin-tone well and just gives a lovely pop of colour to the face. Back in June, I wrote a post all about my current favourite blushes. Now there has been a sudden influx of spring weather now that February is ending, I thought I would write an update on this post. I love using blush to add a pop of colour to the face. Obviously, this post will focus on the shades that best suit my skin tone, some of the blushes mentioned do come in other shades.

Some of these blushes did appear in the previous edition of this post and I did consider not including them, but as I still really love them, I thought that they should stay.

I am a big fan of NARS, especially the face and lip products. I also have the original Orgasm blush, but I have found I use this blush more. Whilst in the pan, it has specks of glitter in it, don’t be alarmed, disco ball cheeks will not happen. You end up with a few glints on the cheek which looks really nice.

Out of these blushes, NARS has the best shade range but that is often the case with high end brands. I would say that this is the closest to pink, rather than peach.

Benefit has been one of my favourite brands for years, and their boxed powders are probably one of their most iconic products. I own both Sugarbomb and GALifornia, but I find I use GALifornia more. I picked this up the summer of 2017 from Sephora whilst on holiday in Spain and I have still barely broken the surface. I do have the smaller size which does not have the glitter overlay but the colour itself, I still really like.

Like I said above, the smaller size does not have the shimmery overlay. I have been to my local counter to see what this blush looks like with the shimmer, and it still seems pretty gorgeous to me.

Back in September I was very lucky to be selected to attend an event with bloggers Anna Newton and Lily Pebbles at Smashbox Studios. We were very kindly given a full face of products to use, including the Cali Contour Palette. Whilst it comes with six powders, alongside the matte highlighting powder, the blush is probably my most used.

I would describe it as a warm dusky rose. This has a matte finish. This is the most expensive of all these products, but as you are getting 6 powders, and will last a really long time to fully finish, you are getting your money’s worth.

If you do not want to splash out on the Cali Contour palette, I think this is a great high street alternative. I do like the blush, it has a nice subtle shimmer running through it, as do the bronzer and highlighter to really help give your face a healthy glow.

If Rimmel brought this blush out individually, I would buy it, but to be honest, I think I would still repurchase this palette, even just for the blush. Whilst this particular palette doesn’t have a good shade range, Rimmel has since brought out more blush palettes which is great.

So these are my current favourite blushes to use. I have not hit pan of any of the blushes, some that I have had for ages despite using very regularly. I would recommend all of these!

What is your favourite blush?

  2. I've had a lot of trouble with blushes in the past (mainly because I'm so pale!) but I found one that I love by Charlotte Tilbury, it's the first one I've ever actually found works for me!
