September Birchbox - On Top Of Your World

I really do love receiving my Birchbox every month, seeing what new products they contain, and introduce me to new brands. As it is September, the theme for the month is ‘On Top Of Your World’, inspired by the notion that September brings new beginnings. As I said in my September Goals, I started fresh with many of my blogging and personal goals, so it is fitting that this month’s box emulates a fresh start! It is also in this beautiful, purple crystal-style design, so that was great too! Let’s have a look inside!

If you’re seeking sunshine in a palette, reach for this golden-nectar blush for an instant pick-me-up that will brighten both your dressing table and complexion! The unique ‘golden nugget’ design and overspray gradually lifts away to reveal a rich nectar shade infused with delicate, golden flecks that help to brighten your skin for that lit-from-within look.
This was the product that we could choose between, the other option being Galifornia. I am a big fan of the Benefit box powders, but since I already own Galifornia, I decided to choose Gold Rush. From the pan, it does look a little similar to Galifornia, but a little paler so if you feel that Galifornia is a little too intense, this could be a good option. Also despite being a sample size, there is a significant amount of product in it.

Eyeko Brow Liner
We love a liquid liner to perfect our everyday cat flick, but what about a liner for our brows?! Enter: Eyeko’s innovative Brow Liner- an easy-to-use tool that helps fill in sparse areas, define with natural-looking colour and emulate the look of real hairs! The liquid formulation allows you to build up colour for a subtle, water-resistant finish that lasts until you’re ready to remove it. Goodbye regular brow pencil!
Other than brow gel, I don’t always use a lot of eyebrow products as I naturally have quite dark and thick eyebrows. However the tails are a little more sparse, and from testing this out on my hand, it has a relatively thin formula, so it might be helpful to fill those in, without giving me cartoon eyebrows. I have liked what I have tried from Eyeko so far, so I am interested to see how this will work out.

Marcelle City 24H Anti-Pollution Day & Night Moisturising Emulsion
Modern life can take its toll, especially on our skin! This moisturising emulsion shields skin from pollution and environmental stressors, while repairing, hydrating and reviving the complexion for a bright and radiant glow.
I am always up for trying different skincare products, just like with my hair, I think it is good so your skin doesn’t get used to a particular product. Although I do not live in Central London, I still live in a substantial town within London and there are a lot of cars so using a product that protects your skin from city pollution can only be a good thing. I really liked the Marcelle make-up remover, so I have high hopes for this.

This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle
Be confident getting your legs out with this powerful, tinted serum, full of vitamins to enhance and repair skin. Easily absorbed, its rich blend of Vitamin C and Vitamin E will help repair skin and Arnica will help even out skin tone and fade bruising. Caramel will add warmth and immediately transform the skin with a subtle skin kissed tint.
This Works is a popular brand within the beauty community, particularly in the UK. Alongside the Deep Mist Pillow Spray, Perfect Legs Skin Miracle is one of their most famous and popular products - although it is a bit of a shame that it has arrived in my September box as it is slowly becoming tights weather! Lets home a quick burst of summer weather appears in the next few weeks! Might still use it for an upper body ‘I’ve not been on holiday, but let’s pretend’ look!

BLAQ Peel Off Mask
On a pursuit to perfect, poreless skin sans blackheads? Minimise your mirror time with this activated charcoal mask designed to target toxins and draw out impurities, instantly. The result? Happy, flawless skin- are you ready for your close up?
No matter what skin type you have, I always think it can be good to give your skin for lack of a better term, a ‘clearout’. Although I have never really suffered with any acne or other skin problems, my nose will be the place where blackheads, spots or any build up will appear. I have used Biore strips before, but this is the first peel-off mask I have used, so it will be interesting to see which works better.. And hurts a little less!

So that was this month’s Birchbox unboxing! Are there any fresh starts, whether it is fitness, health, blogging, that you are undertaking this month?

Also, as always, if you have tried any of these products, I would love to know your thoughts!

Ellyn xx
