Current Makeup Staples: May 2018

Back in March, I wrote a post all about my current make-up staples. If you don't know, every Monday I post what make-up I'm wearing. All these products that are featured in this post, I have been using almost everyday when I wear makeup. Some of these are new to my collection, whilst others I have had for a while but I am back in a phase of using them regularly. Whilst none of these products are drugstore or high-street, I think they are all worth the price tag. They are not the highest of high-end but obviously that varies on people's budgets. I would happily add these to a birthday wish-list.

This is probably my favourite illuminating cream that I have tried so far. It is no wonder that this is one of MAC's best-selling products. What I love most about it, is that it feels like the most natural 'fake' glow - if that makes any sense. It is also available in a range of shades, so hopefully there is a shade that everyone could use.

So far I have used it in place of a primer or mixed with foundation. Right now, I prefer using it in place of a primer.

I have tried other colours than black in eyeliners from other brands before, but I have found that they are not as pigmented as black. This is the first brown eyeliner that I have really loved. I love the MAC Lip Pencils, but this is the first eyeliner that I have used, and I love it! I really want to try it in other colours.

A brown eyeliner is a great option for when black is a little too intense, but you still want to create some kind of impact. I really like how this applies, and looks. It is also a good nude option for darker skin-tones.

I have found a new favourite liquid eyeliner. I received this in this month's Birchbox post and I will definitely be re-purchasing the full size. It is easily the best felt-tip eyeliner that I have used - and I have tried drugstore and high-end. It is really easy to apply, and lasts.

It also applies just as well over shimmery eyeshadows as well as matte eyeshadows - and it also stays black, no eyeshadow transfer. It is also only £16 which I think is pretty decent.

This palette reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette, all matte eyeshadows in neutral shades. Kryolan is a brand that is mainly used by professional make-up artists so, you know that it is going to be good. Although, it is quite pricey. I bought mine at Olympia Beauty so it was slightly cheaper.

This is the main matte eyeshadow palette that I've been using for a while. I have been using it to create a very natural look, but also in my work-place smokey eye.

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer
This is one of my favourite make-up products of all time. It is one of Benefit's best-selling products - so much that you can get it in a lighter version as well as stick and liquid form. I use it mostly as a bronzer but for me, it also works well as a transition shade for eyeshadow. I have had this for ages, rarely switch it up and I still have not finished it. So you definitely get your money's worth out of it.

So these are my current make-up staples. As I said at the beginning, I post my make-up every Monday, so watch this space for what products I am loving.

I also love perusing the shops so if you have any current faves, let me know!

Ellyn xx
