My Favourite Cruelty-Free Make-Up Brands

In this day and age, there are more people making more ethical choices in their lifestyle. Whether that is just in food, their beauty life or if they lead a complete cruelty-free or vegan lifestyle. First off, I think that is completly admirable and I am happy that more of us are making these decisions. However, in the beauty world it is not always clear if a brand is cruelty-free or not. Especially if they are owned by a parent company. In today's post, I am writing about five of my favourite make-up brands that are cruelty-free.

Urban Decay was one of the first higher end brands that I ever bought make-up from. The brand combines bright and out-there colour cosmetics, with more natural and everyday make-up so there is really something for everyone.

My favourite product at the moment is the Naked Heat Palette. Whilst you might not at first be tempted to spend £40 on an eyeshadow palette, in my opinion any of the Naked Palettes are totally worth it.

I also think the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils are also great, especially the coloured shades as in some brands, they can be less pigmented than the traditional black eyeliner.

I would probably say that NYX is my favourite drugstore or high-street make-up brand. There is such a huge variety of make-up products, in a variety of shades and are all at an affordable price.

I love the Retractable Eye Liner and the Soft Matte Lip Creams. A new product that I am trying is the Born To Glow Highlighter Single in Gold

When I was first getting into make-up, I used to be obsessed with the Sleek iDivine Eyeshadow palettes, I had pretty much all of them. Even though I probably only ever used about eight of the shadows in total.

Sleek was one of the only high-street brands where there was a better selection of shades for all skin-tones, not just five or six shades that were basically just for pale or mid-toned skin colours. Like NYX, Sleek is also really affordable but decent quality, I also like that they don't faff around with unnecessary packaging either.

At the moment, I love the Sleek Highlighter Palette in Solstice, which could make your cheekbones be seen from the moon.

This was another brand where I had many unnecessary products when I would actually use a couple. That was the Dazzle Dusts. Whilst they are absolutely gorgeous colours, I literally had every colour of the rainbow, including a matte red, yellow and a shimmery orange. I don't think I wore any of those out of the house.

I also love the Barry M nail polishes, they have a gorgeous selection of types and colours - especially the speed dry range. There has been many new releases to Barry M which I really want to try over the next few months!

First of all, I would say Soap & Glory is best known for the pink packaging and the funny names that they come up with for their products. For a while, the brand used to only do bath and body products, especially ones for gifts. I remember being very excited when I found a Boots store that stocked the new make-up range.

I have not tried the entire range, but I do like the Supercat eyeliners and the Sexy Mother Pucker Matte Lipsticks (not the glosses - did not like the tingling lips).

Most Boots stores will stock some of Soap & Glory's products, but more will stock the bath and body products over the make-up ranges. Hopefully it will get brought into more stores as I think they have some really nice products.

Obviously the best thing about all these brands and their products is that they are cruelty-free. Whilst I do eat meat, and use some brands who are not cruelty-free, I often try to make better and more ethical choices. In the future, I would love to live a live that is cruelty-free.

What are your favourite cruelty-free or vegan brands?

    1. Me too! It also makes it easier for those people who only want to use cruelty-free products as it is not always clear.

  2. I love this post so much! I'm trying to use more cruelty free make up and products, so something like this to point me in the right direction for make up brands is exactly what I need! I'm also obsessed with the Naked Heat palette but I haven't bought it yet, still saving up 🙄

    1. The Solstice Palette can make you glow for miles! I wanted to make sure that there was a brand for everyone's budget, cruelty-free makeup should not have to cost you too much money, although I would happily spend the money for Urban Decay!

    1. It is, and I really hope more brands go cruelty-free in the future because there are so many products that I love that are not cruelty-free!
