Mini Topshop Haul: Birthday Treat

Topshop has been one of my favourite brands for a long time. When I was younger, it felt really special when you had something from Topshop as it is one of the more expensive high street brands. I love the wide ranges of styles you can get from Topshop, from their Topshop Unique collections which walk the catwalk at London Fashion Week, to the more everyday pieces. I had a 20% off discount code for my birthday and I was scanning my wishlist trying to choose something that I really wanted and I went with these two items and I adore them!

The first thing I picked up was this Striped Linen Paper Bag skirt. Since I got my frill hem trousers, I have been really into trying unusual hems and waistbands. Paper bag waist bands are not a new fashion trend but I have never found anything that I really liked. This has now changed with this skirt. I found that the paper bag waistband is really flattering and I think the tie waist also helps with this.

It is also stripey and I still have a big weakness for striped clothing! I will say that out of all the striped clothing that I own, the stripes on this skirt are different. It is also a great skirt to wear in the summer months as it is a good length and although being white, it is not really see through at all, but I probably would still try and wear white or nude underwear just in case as is linen. The linen does keep this skirt feeling light which is nice to wear in the summer when it starts to get really hot.

The second item that I picked up was this gorgeous Crochet Cold Shoulder midi dress in this beautiful duck-egg blue. I love wearing light dresses in the summer months and more recently, I have been loving midi lengths - this dress is a perfect combination of the two! This dress is perfect for the summer months as it is nice and light but has a stylish design.

I love the crochet design but I will say, it is very close to being a little bit too revealing around the cleavage area so I would definitely go with a nude strapless bra. I also love the straps on the dress which cross over at the back. As you can see from the last photograph, I currently have a slightly sunburnt back but once that is gone I think the back will look much better haha!

So that is what I picked up with my birthday discount, I can't wait to continue styling these pieces over the summer months! Is there anything you are looking forward to wearing this summer? Let me know in the comments!
