Current Beauty Favourites - February 2020

As someone with a ridiculous amount of beauty products, I so often get drawn into using the same products again, and again. So when I find a new (or old) product that I really like, it is always quite exciting. It has been a while since I did a favourites post, and I've discovered some great products, which I cannot believe I wasn't using for so long before. A lot of these have also solved a lot of beauty 'problems' that I was having.

This unique way of moisturising capitalises on skin’s peak hydration moment (when it’s wet) & is clinically proven to lock in double the hydration for instantly softer & smoother skin. Faster absorbing & quicker to use than a regular lotion, this is the ultimate moisturiser to use when you are short on time. Soaking instantly into the skin, this ultra-light & non-greasy moisturiser infused with apricot oil & avocado oil will leave your skin feeling amazing all day.

I've mentioned before that I am rubbish at moisturising my body. It improves in the hotter months when I've got my legs out, but in the colder months.. its practically non-existent. I tried the Nivea version of this product years ago and did not like it. I was left feeling very greasy. This does not leave me with that feeling. It takes a few seconds to put on, and can get dressed straight away! I've been using it everyday.

Defeat pores AND dryness! This silky-smooth, hydrating face primer instantly moisturizes & refreshes skin, helps makeup stay put and minimizes the look of pores and fine lines. It has the same oil-free, lightweight feel & pore-minimizing power as the original The POREfessional PLUS 12-hour* hydration. Pores and dryness don’t stand a chance!

I posted a mini-review of this on Instagram and I am still loving it. It has combined a lot of what I want in a primer, in one! I really like the original POREfessional, but only liked to use that in the centre of my face, and around my nose. I like more of a hydrating primer for the rest. As this combines both, I can use it all over my face and still get what I need. Definitely going to purchase the full size!

From rough winter winds to seaside summer adventures, there's always something leaving our precious hands rough and dry. Enter: this nourishing cream to deeply hydrate and instantly soften, with a blend of shea butter and rose. What's more, the sweet floral scent is perfect for all seasons!

As I said above, I am rubbish at moisturising my body, and I am even worse when it comes to my hands. Like with body moisturisers, I hate anything too sticky or heavy. My hands can get a bit clammy very quickly, so something that is quite to sink in is essential. I've had this out on my desk and have found myself reaching for it a lot. It smells amazing, but given how much I love rose, it's hardly surprising! It sinks in quickly, and doesn't leave any residue.

Microfiber Hair Towel

I have a lot of hair. Washing it is a long old affair, I end up spending a good few hours with it wrapped up in a hand towel. My sister had one of these towels yet it was too small to fit in my hair into. So I would just keep using a normal towel. However, my siblings and I were all given one of these towels (I believe they are from Primark) for Christmas and I was thrilled to find it fits all my hair inside it. I can do it up using the button at the back and can just carry on. It is so much less heavier than when you are using a normal towel. My hair also dries a lot better too.

For a show-stopping 'ooh là là' lip, look no further than Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution, which is not only phenomenally long-wearing, but also remarkably hydrating. Enriched with the aptly named 'lipstick tree' extract - with powerful protective and reparative properties - alongside specialist '3D' pigments to create the illusion of enhanced lip fullness

I'm so happy to be using this lipstick so much again. I've featured it a lot recently both on here and on Instagram but I just love it so much. I really like the colour, the packaging and the formulation. I also think the shape of the actual lipstick bullet is really useful. Makes it so easy to apply. My last blog post was all about Charlotte Tilbury matte lipsticks if you want to know more!

Do you have any current beauty favourites?

  2. I need one of those hair towels in my life, mine is ridiculously long and I don't like putting it up when it's wet so a hair towel sounds perfect. I like like original porefessional but I have really dry skin so I'm dying to try the new one x

  3. Think I'll give that moisturiser a go! I'm the same as you - not too bad at keeping up with it in the summer but totally let it slide in the winter. I tried the Nivea one too and you're right, it's far too greasy. Delighted that there could be another decent option, thanks for sharing!

  5. I used to really like the Benefit Porefessional, but like you said, not for all over my face. When I was in the store, I saw that they created a hydrating formula, and was super curious! I'm really glad to hear that you liked it. I might have to give it a try once I run out of what I have. Great post xx
