High Street Beauty Faves

At the start of the month I wrote about three high-end beauty products that I could not live without. However high street beauty has really upped its game, constantly challenging the high end beauty products with cheaper alternatives. Whilst some do not always match up, there are so many products that really step up to the plate. So in this post, I thought I would write about some of my favourite high-street beauty products, makeup and skincare.

All of these products are under £10, and are often part of offers in Boots and Superdrug.

It was only a few years ago that I discovered that I have dehydrated skin. Dehydrated skin can often be mistaken for oily skin, and also the fact that there is not always a specific range. However after reading Caroline Hiron’s blog, and watching her videos I learnt more about looking for specific ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid. Whilst it is being used in a lot more products, the Superdrug serums were my first encounter.

I noticed the difference immediately, it was almost like I could feel the moisture going deep into my skin. I use both the day and night serum and they have featured in my skincare routines for quite a while. They are also both under a fiver! The day serum is £2.99, and the night serum is £3.99. They are often part of a 3-for-2 deal as well.

A true icon of the British high street. Whilst I am really enjoying using the HD Brows Pro Fix Concealer, the Collection concealer is definitely one that I would always consider purchasing, and like to have in my collection. I have had issues with some high-street concealers drying orange under my eyes and one of the very few that do not is the Collection concealer.

I like to use the lightest shade, as it brightens up my under eyes nicely. I don’t find it is too thick for that. However as it is quite pale, I would not use it anywhere else on the face. I really hope that over the next few years that Collection expands the shade range, I think it is a really great concealer that everyone should be able to enjoy.

I have had the Nude version of this palette for a while, as a high-street alternative to the original Naked palette. However at the same time that I was planning my High-Street/High End #GRWM post, I watched one of Suzie from Hello October’s videos and she recommend the Spice version. It also closely matched the eyeshadow colour that I was using for the high-end version.

This has become one of my most used eyeshadow palettes, and the fourth shade along from the left, my most used eyeshadow. Both the matte and shimmery shades are very pigmented and last really well. It is also only £8.99, and for 12 eyeshadows, that’s not too shabby!

For under £20, you could pick up all three of this products. Almost three of my high end must haves were over £20, (the NARS by £1 but still!)

What are your high street must haves?

  1. I'm surprised to see the Rimmel palette in here because I had the smoky version and I wasn't impressed with it at all but those shades do look stunning so I might have to try it out! I also agree about Lasting Perfection concealer it's so good and was my holy grail for years until I got Revolution Conceal and Define.

  3. The Superdrug skincare items sound lovely. Hydrating products are my favourites so I'll have to check these out. I know so many people love the Collection concealer but I find it way too drying for my undereye x
