Five Favourites: November

Although there are still 11 days left of November so it is a little early to be doing a favourites post. I have been loving using some products recently and I will definitely continue to use them for the rest of the month so I thought I might as well post this piece now. I have had most of these products for a while now or they are a repurchased product. Like in my other Five Favourites posts, some of these products have featured in other posts so I'll try not to be too repetitive whilst still informing those who might not have seen these products before.

Five Favourites November: Life Of A Beauty Nerd
Garnier Micellar Water
I have been using this cleansing water ever since it launched. It is amazing. In the last few weeks, there have been many days when I have been too tired to take off my make-up with the Ultrabland cleanser from Lush.

The micellar water is a great option to use for a quick make-up removal but it is still fairly good for the skin. This is also great for correcting make-up mistakes without having to start all over again.

It is also super affordable and it is now available in ones for different skin-types and one that has an oil in it as well.

Lip Balm
In the last two weeks I have been suffering with a canker sore and a regular mouth ulcer on the inside of my lips. The canker sore was very close to the opening of my lips and I found that if I had dry lips, it would really aggravate the canker sore.

Lip Balm has been my saving grace and Friday was the first day that I had worn lipstick in nearly two weeks. There have been two lip balms that I have been loving to help ease the situation. The first is the Burt's Bees Coconut & Pear Lip Balm. The packaging on mine is a little different as it was a limited edition packaging from the Save The Bees campaign which I received through work. I like the smell and it moisturises the lips really well.

The other lip balm is unfortunately harder to get hold off as it is the Elemis lip balm from the British Airways First Class amenities bag which my mum gave to me after a work trip abroad. It is a shame because it is an amazing lip balm that stays on the lips for ages! If anyone knows whether you can buy it separately from Elemis, please let me know.

Kryolan Shades 5 Colours Eyeshadow Palette in Muscat
I picked this up at Olympia Beauty and it is easily one of the best eyeshadow palettes I have used. As it from Kryolan who often appear in the kits of professional make-up artists in the film and television industry, you know that it has got to be good.

I prefer matte eyeshadows and this entire palette is completely matte. At the moment, I am using the two darker shadows in the palette in my everyday make-up look in the outer corner. You do not need much to make an impact and whilst it is on the price side for five eyeshadows, I think it is worth it and I would happily keep this as my only palette.

Sleek Highlighter Palette in Solstice
These highlighters are some of the best highlighters that I have used in my life thus far. One of my last posts was all about the current highlighters that I am loving so I will link that here. The palette is also available in two other shade ranges.

The palette is only £10 which is amazing and let's face it, it looks absolutely beautiful - if you excuse the fingerprints!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer
I have been back to using Hoola as my main contour and bronzer for the last few weeks and I always forget how good it really is. It is concentrated enough that it makes a significant contour but can still give a subtle warmth to the skin.

If you had read any of my previous posts when I have talked about Hoola, you will know that for ages I was parted with it when my sister stole it but I have since given her the Hoola freebie that came in my Birchbox - see that is what a good sister does!

Hoola is now available in a 'Lite' version if you found Hoola a little too dark for your skin-tone.

I hope everyone is having a great November so far and is looking forward to the start of Christmas. I want to start planning Christmas-themed content so if there are any requests, please leave them in the comments!

Ellyn xx

  1. I love the Benefit Hoola Bronzer, I've been using it for years now! I no longer use a separate contour with it because it's good enough on it's own x
