My M.A.C Lipsticks

When I first started getting into makeup, M.A.C alongside Urban Decay was one of the higher end makeup brands that I always wanted to try. I still remember purchasing my first products - All That Glitters and Satin Taupe eyeshadow and Ladyblush cream blusher! Surprisingly, it was not until a few years ago that I bought my first lipstick from the brand given that their lipsticks are a very popular part of their brand. Since that first purchase, I have now got five in my collection. I definitely want to expand my collection but I probably should do a lipstick de-clutter (oh my, that's going to be challenging) before I start buying all of them!

M.A.C Creme Cup
This was the lipstick that started the love so I thought I would talk about this first! I find lighter pink lipsticks really hard to wear on myself and at the time I was also looking for a new nude lipstick. When I first bought this, I did really like wearing it but I find now I just don't pick it up. If I do try and wear it, I often wear a darker pink/rose lipliner underneath it and then I find it looks better on me. It is a really beautiful colour and on other people I think this shade can look absolutely gorgeous. I am also not a fan of the Cremesheen formula as I can find it get feel quite sticky on the lips.

M.A.C Mocha
This is one of my favourite lipsticks to wear when I am in a rush or a quick lipstick top-up. It has a satin formula so it is a great lipstick to reapply without feeling like your wearing too many layers of lipstick or drying out your lips like some matte finishes can do. The colour is very similar to Blushing Nude from Clinique

M.A.C Antique Velvet
This the newest lipstick in my collection of M.A.C lipsticks and also the darkest lipstick that I own. I used to be quite worried about wearing dark lipsticks as I have dark brown hair and a few years ago, I probably wouldn't have bought it. However as I mentioned in my favourite lipstick and lipliners post, after I saw Jessie from sunbeamsjess wearing it with Chesnut lipliner, I had to have it! I actually wear this quite a lot as I find it can really change how an outfit looks.

M.A.C Ruby Woo
If you are looking for a matte red lipstick that will not budge for anything - Ruby Woo is the one for you! If you do not wear a lot of matte lip products, Ruby Woo could be a little uncomfortable to wear as it is quite drying. This is my go-to red lipstick as it is not too warm or too cool. I also think it is a lipstick that is great value for money as you do not need to top up your lippie as much as you would have to for other lipsticks so it lasts a lot longer!

M.A.C Whirl
Whirl is one of M.A.C's most popular lipsticks and it took me while to get it as it was often out of stock both in store and online. I bought it to match the Whirl lipliner but the two don't actually completely match, the lipliner is a bit lighter. The lipstick was darker than I originally thought but it is still on the more natural side. It is quite similar to Mocha but is cooler and slightly darker. It is also a matte finish but similarly to Antique Velvet and unlike Ruby Woo, it is not drying at all and really comfortable to wear.

I really want to expand my M.A.C lipstick collection and I would love to hear any recommendations if your favourites aren't mentioned above! What is your favourite lipstick finish from M.A.C?
