May Birchbox - Spread Your Wings

My favourite month! My birthday month! I always look forward to receiving my May Birchbox as I often get it in the week running up to my birthday. Sadly my birthday is over (it was Sunday) but I had to wait to post this due to a missing product. I am really excited about the products in this month's box, it features a favourite, and new things to try from brands I already love! Also, how beautiful and spring-like is the box! Let's see what's inside.

Liner can transform the way your eyes look in an instant. Made with kajal and kohl, this one's long-lasting formula glides on like a dream, no matter your level of expertise. Rich in pigment and ultra-blendable, it can also be smudged out for a gorgeously soft, smokey effect.

For some reason this did not appear in my box when it first arrived, but the Birchbox team were soon on to it and sent me another! I like Lord & Berry, at the moment I am still a big fan of my MAC Feline Eye Kohl so it will be interesting to see how it matches up!

Envelop your skin in a blanket of floral-scented moisture with NUXE Prodigieuse Florale. Enriched with 7 botanical oils, skin is left silky smooth, radiant and delicately fragranced. It’s perfect for hydrating your arms and legs, or you can work a little through the lengths of your hair to add shine.

I love what I have tried from NUXE before - I actually bought their infamous lip balm at the Birchbox pop-up on Carnaby Street! Whilst I have used hair oils in the best, I've not really tried anything that could be used on the hair but also on the body as well. It also smells amazing so I can't wait to use it!

Not only does this mascara thicken, lengthen and volumise your lashes, it nourishes them at the same time. How? A hard-working formula enriched with almond oil and oleic acid - clever!

Through a previous box, I tried Beautaniq's tinted eyebrow gel and I still use it, so I have high expectations for mascara. I am also still using and loving my Maybelline Snapscara, so I want to see how this compares, is it better and would it work in conjuction.

Not only does this SPF defend against harmful rays, it’s chock-full of antioxidant vitamin E to deeply hydrate and further protect your skin. The lightweight formula sinks in quickly with a velvety finish, never leaves an unsightly white cast, and is free from harmful ingredients. What a dream!

As we are hopefully getting into warmer weather, it is more important than ever to use a regular SPF on the face. My current favourite is by Polaar, which I tried through Birchbox, but this is a little cheaper so if I like this one better, that's a little bonus! This is the only brand I have not heard of before, so I'm excited to try!

This award-winning pre-shampoo treatment - which works with all hair types - add elasticity, manageability, hydration and shine whilst reducing breakage. Infused with notes of bergamot, orange and soft peach to capture the freshness of living by the sea, this multi-award winning pre-shampoo treatment encapsulates the true freshness of seaside living with its dreamy scent.

This is one of the best hair care products I have tried! I like that you apply before showering, so you don't have to wait around in the shower before washing it out. I just stick my head under the bath tap and remove excess water with a towel. This is the smaller size at £9.50, and even with my hair which is very thick I get at least three uses out of it. The full size (150ml) is £33.

As I mentioned earlier, I had one of my products missing, and when it arrived the package also included a sample of the Lumene Nordic Detox Moisture Remedy Day & Night Cream. Lumene is an amazing skincare brand with fantastically hydrating moisturisers, so I am looking forward to trying this!

Have you tried any of these products?

Ellyn xx

  1. This sounds like a pretty useful box! The Nuxe lip balm is my OG, while the Elastcizer from PK is one of the best hair products around.Looking forward to if you post an update about the mascara and SPF after you've used them xx
