GRWM - Cruelty-Free Makeup

I’ve decided to make a #GRWM a regular feature on my blog, but as I already post my weekly makeup posts on Instagram, I wanted to do something a little different with these. For these posts, every month I am going to decide on a theme. I decided to kick it off with a cruelty-free GRWM. I double checked with all the brands that I am using to confirm that they are cruelty-free certified. I am not sure however if they are all vegan. If you would like to see a full face of vegan makeup, let me know. Let’s get started!

Face

I was very glad to find out that Smashbox is cruelty-free, right now it would feel unnatural to wear any other primer than my Primerizer. As I always do, I use about 3 pumps and spread it across my face. For concealer, I used the HD Brows Pro Fix Concealer. As I have mentioned before, you only need a small amount as it is super high coverage.

I was going to use blush and bronzer, but I wanted to use my Manna Kadar Trifecta Bronzer and as it is a bit darker than my usual blush choices and redder than my usual bronzers, I decided against a separate bronzer. Using a fluffy cheek brush, I lightly dabbed my brush into it, tapping off excess and applied it to my cheeks. I did not want to apply too much at once, so doing it sparingly allowed me to build up to the coverage that I wanted.

Eyes

I was going to use my usual NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base, but then I remembered that they started to sell in China. Instead I primed with my HD Brows Pro Fix Concealer – concealer is a great option if you don’t want to spend money on a separate eye primer. For eyeshadow, I wanted to use one of my Sleek MakeUP palettes, a true icon of British high-street makeup. I was torn between the Original and A New Day, but as I’m in an office environment this week I went with A New Day as it is more natural.

I first took the third shade from the top left and used that as a transition shade in the socket using my Luxie 205 Tapered Blending Brush which is a slightly fanned out fluffy eye brush. Then I used the third bottom right shade over the lid, then lightly layering some of the second eyeshadow from the bottom left over top which has a little shimmer. Using a smaller fluffy brush, I applied some of the dark brown (furtherest bottom right) into the outer corner and slightly into the socket and upper lashline, making sure to blend it out again with the Luxie brush. I also used one of shimmery shade next to the dark brown as a highlight on my brow and cheekbone.

Finally, I followed with my ASOS Design Eyeliner and Mascara.

Lips

I wanted to a NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, as they are a great liquid lipstick option, and super affordable in a huge variety of shades. After agonising over my collection (I was given one of their vault sets as a Christmas gift a while ago) I decided to go with the shade Los Angeles. Underneath I used my Lottie London Slay All Day Lip Pencil in Werk It. The two blended together really nicely.

If you have any requests or ideas that I could use, or you would like to see going forward with these posts, please let me know. I love hearing your feedback!

What are your fave cruelty-free brands?
