January Round-Up

There is only one day of January left! I’m sure to many that is a relief. Whilst I’m still not sure if I want to continue monthly goals posts, I thought it might be nice to do a monthly round-up to see how the month went, and what I did or did not achieve. I’m going to start with blog-related stuff, but I might include personal as I go on. One good thing about these posts, is I automatically have something to write about each month! Let’s see what happened in January.

New Blog Planning

One of the reasons that my blog had a bit of stand-still at the end of last year was I did not have time to come up with, write and schedule content. Alongside a lack of inspiration. I knew that this year with searching for a full-time job, I needed to come up with a new way of planning my content to make it easier.

Inspired by The Anna Edit, I have the whole month written down so I can write in posts alongside boxes to tick when I have photos, text and social posts done. I also have a blog ideas page next to it, where I can plan future posts and what is being featured.

So far, its working.

Posting daily on Instagram

This was one of my goals for this year and I am pleased to say that it is going well. To keep on track, I have decided to write out a plan for this as well, based on my blog planner and it has really helped me get in advance. I have seen my follow count increase and I’m just enjoying creating more content.

I have also upgraded to a business account, which I am hoping will help me out in the future.

First collaboration with a brand

This month saw my first collaboration with an actual brand! I have had many emails in the past that are clearly not real, so to have a legitimate company wanting to work with me was so cool! And a pretty substantial brand at that too – HD Brows! I am really hoping that this year will see many more opportunities to work with brands, and share great products with my audience. To make it clear, I would never work with any brand that I did not like their products – ain’t nobody got time for fake advertising!

I’m pretty happy with how January went with my blog, and I am excited to see what happens over the next few months. I have started a new internship this week with another magazine, so I’m also hopeful that February will bring more work opportunities too!

How was your January?
