My Goals For 2019

Towards the end of 2018, my goals posts were becoming a bit null and void because I didn’t really achieve any of them. It made me question whether I wanted to put up any more goals posts at all. However as with anything, I feel like having a written list, whether it be goals or just a regular to-do list – it gives me something to complete. With the start of a new year, I have the chance to wipe the slate clean and get back into achieving my goals. For 2019, I did not want to set resolutions but goals, as it feels like I can get more out of it, through working towards it and achieving it.

Get Back into posting regular content
At the end of last year, I went through a period of bloggers block. I had a few ideas of what to write, but also a total lack of inspiration when it came to be writing the post. Always helpful. So, with the start of a new year, I want to get back in the game with posting regular content. I also want to change up my content, whilst I will continue to post some regular content, I also want to experiment more with more lifestyle pieces, fashion pieces as well as beauty.

Please let me know if there is any content you would like to see.

Post as much as possible on Instagram
I used to be very good at posting pretty much daily on my Instagram, but in December I started an internship where I had to leave a lot earlier, and I would get home a lot later and I just did not have time to post new content. I ended up not posting regularly, and when I did, it would be a post that I had already shared.

As well as having a planner for my blog content, I am experimenting with having a separate plan for Instagram, so I can have a vague idea of what to post and so I can get it sorted prior to each day to avoid not posting.

Changing up my backgrounds
If you have seen any of my blog posts before, you might notice a vague pattern in how I take my images. A magazine in one corner, a notebook in another and a Birchbox drawer in a coordinating colour to finish it off. However, that gets quite boring. I have also sometimes found it hard to fit everything I want in.

But.. as you can see in the image for this post, I have a new background! My parents got me one of Capture By Lucy’s backdrops and its already been so useful. It is much larger than my tile, and it is encouraging me to change up the backgrounds in my blog images. I’ll still use my tile for smaller images, but I can’t wait to start experimenting!

My main focuses at the start of this year are blogging related, so I haven’t really thought about any personal goals other than the one below.

Read at least one book a month
Now this was also a goal I had last year, but I did not achieve it that well. In order to get more reading done, I’ve set myself to a minimum of a book a month. Also, instead of a ‘What I want to watch/red’ spread in my bullet journal, I have decided to make it a ‘What I’ve watched/red’. I feel this way I am more encouraged to keep adding to the list.

I will probably still continue some of my resolutions from last year which included fitness and meeting up with friends.

What are your goals for 2019, and do you prefer goals or resolutions?

    1. It feels quite daunting - I'm hoping writing down what I want to post will help me keep it up! Good luck with your reading too!

  2. Good luck with all of your goals for 2019! I like the overall topics you're focusing on for the year. It is nice to have a schedule for blogging but don't stress too much :). We will always be here, hehe. Oh man, I am the same when it comes to the vague backgrounds. I feel you! Hope you'll find lots of books you enjoy. Sending you positive vibes.

    1. I think having a background formula can just make it so much easier! If a little repetitive!
