Pastel Nail Polishes For Spring 2018

The first month of spring has arrived, although it hasn't felt like that yet in the UK thanks to the arrival of snow and strong winds! However whilst we are waiting for the weather to catch up, we can at least celebrate the arrival of the spring months with our nails. As I said last year, what is more perfect for spring than pastels! In this year's post, I chose shades that I did end up wearing a lot last year. Most of these did feature in the original post but there is a new contender! I am sorry if some of this is a repeat, but I can't help but love all of these polishes!

Pastel Nail Polishes For Spring 2018 - Life Of A Beauty Nerd
(Starting from the top)

This is still one of my favourite nail polishes of all time. It is just too gorgeous for words. It is described as a sparkling cornflower blue, although I have always found that it goes a little purple once you have applied a top coat - if that happens to anyone else, please let me know. Despite that small issue, I can never get over how beautiful this looks on the nails.

This is very similar to Bikini So Teeny, I would say that this is more of a sky blue in comparison but it does have the light shimmer like the Essie polish. I am a big fan of the Rimmel 60 Second nail polishes, they are probably my favourite quick dry formula, and they come in such a huge range of colours. This is the only polish that did not feature in last year's post, and I cannot wait to start wearing it this spring!

This is another great quick dry nail polish range, and I love how they always tie in the name with racing. Pole Position is still my favourite out of the shades that I own and it is probably the truest mint green nail polish that I own. It really stands out on the nails, almost in a 'bright' way. They have since released more shades in this range, even more pastel shades so I might have to add some more to my collection.

Like I said last year, although the darkest out of all these nail polishes, I would still say Turquoise & Caicos could belong in the pastel family. It is definitely more green then blue so it is not really a true turquoise but to be honest, I prefer it this way. This is another of Essie's best selling shades and I can see why.

Even outside of spring, this particular nail polish was my most worn neutral colour. 'Greige' was a colour trend last year and although there is more colour in the make-up trends, this is still a beautiful neutral shade. If you have been a regular reader, you might remember that I actually own two bottles of this, bought on separate trips, completely by accident! I guess that shows how beautiful this colour is!

Purple will always be my favourite colour and lilac, in my opinion is the most beautiful shade of purple. This is definitely my favourite lilac nail polish that I have ever owned. It is not too blue, too cool or too pink. Again, it also comes in one of my favourite nail polish formulas. I don't wear enough purple so this is a great way to get more purple in my life. I cannot find this on the Rimmel website, but it is on Superdrug's so I assume you can still get this.

So these are the pastel nail polishes that I will continue to be wearing this spring. Although knowing me, I will probably be adding more to my collection throughout the season, especially some of the new Barry M Speedy polishes.

What nail polishes will you be wearing this spring?

  1. I am digging all these shades! I usually stick to nude pinks or black - I know very different from each other but I defo need to venture out into more pastel colours!

  2. You make me want to paint my nails. What a shame I don't own any of these colours! My sister is a massive Barry M fan though, so perhaps a borrow a shade from her.

    Thanks for sharing!
