Smoothie Time: Berry Bonanza

Over the summer, one of my favourite desserts that I had was a bowl of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries with some chopped up banana and topped with chia seeds and golden syrup. This month's smoothie recipe is inspired by this dessert although with a few twists. I was originally going to do another smoothie bowl recipe as I have worked out a 'formula' to follow but I put up a poll on Twitter and a traditional smoothie was chosen for this month.

Smoothie Time: Berry Bonanza
Ingredients
  • 1 banana
  • 1 handful of frozen blueberries
  • 1 handful of raspberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp strawberry yoghurt
  • 150ml coconut milk
Method
  1. Put the frozen blueberries (and frozen raspberries if you are using them) into the blender first so it can defrost a little in case your blender isn't super powerful
  2. Add in a chopped up banana and the raspberries if you are using them fresh
  3. Add two tablespoons of strawberry yoghurt and one tablespoon of honey - I put my spoon in some boiling water first and then measure out the honey with the now hot spoon, it just slides off the spoon so much easier
  4. Pour in the coconut milk and then add the chia seeds
  5. Blend away until all the fruit, especially the frozen fruit, is all blended
  6. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
I hope you enjoy this month's recipe and let me know if you try it! I know this month was not dairy-free or vegan but most of my other recipes have been so click here to check them out! I was thinking of doing a Halloween inspired recipe for next month (bowl or traditional) so if you have any ideas let me know below!
