Five Favourites: March 2017

I have written favourites posts on this blog before but since I have back working in an office, it has been harder to try lots of different products as I don't have a lot of time in the morning but subscribing to Birchbox has helped expand my knowledge of what's out there right now. I often find it hard to write favourite posts as I don't always have loads of products to talk about so instead I thought about trying to do five favourites from each month. I cannot guarantee it will happen every time but I will try!

Real Techniques Setting Brush
I used to use this brush to set my under-eye concealer but I found it would just get a bit too cakey under there so I have now started using to apply my highlighter and I love it! I find that it blends the highlighter really nicely along my cheekbones and even if you use only a small amount of highlighter, it disperses it really well. I think Real Techniques is such a great and affordable makeup brush brand. If you want to see a post all about my RT brushes and what I use them for, please let me know!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm
I have used this liquid lipstick so much since I bought it and is probably the most worn in my collection. It is so easy to apply and dries really quickly so is also great for when you need to do your makeup quickly. I am not a massive fan of the scent but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives in this product. With this, I often wear it without any lipliner and it does not go on streaky which is great.

Marcelle Gentle Make-Up Remover
I have been using the Garnier Micellar water to take off my makeup for such a long time and I did not think I would ever find something I love more to take makeup... until now! I received the Marcelle makeup remover in March's Birchbox and it is amazing! Just a pea-sized amount on a cotton pad (I will note that it does spread out on the pad) can remove every stitch of eye makeup. Every bit of mascara is gone when I use this! Even with the micellar water, I still have to go over my lashes a few times to get rid of stubborn mascara but not with this bad boy! It is a bi-phase product so you do have to shake it before use. It is also hypoallergenic as well! I need to find out where I can buy this full-size because I want to use it forever!

theBalm 'The Manizer Sisters' Palette
I won't ramble about this palette for too long because I do have a blog post all about this so click here for the full review! I use this palette every day when I am wearing makeup. I use Mary-Lou the most but I do still like to add a hint of Cindy-Lou and Betty-Lou to boost my blush and bronzer. All three also have great lasting power and longevity on the skin is a big problem for me as I have dehydrated skin which often sucks away all my face makeup.

Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating Serum
I also have blog post all about my love for this serum here, so again click there for a full review. I ran out of the original bottle and for nearly two weeks I didn't have a bottle because I kept forgetting to repurchase it and I am so happy to have to back in my life again! I couldn't recommend any skincare product more and if I could only keep one skincare item, I would keep this! It is also so ridiculously cheap so why haven't you bought it yet!

Those were my five favourites from March! What products have you been loving during March and is there anything you are looking forward to trying during the rest of April?

Ellyn xx

  2. I've never subscribed to Birchbox, but I get Latest in Beauty every month, and it's a great way to try out new things that you'd never thought of buying before. Here are my March favourites if you'd like to have a look :) https://unseen-beauty.com/2017/03/22/march-favourites/

    1. I'm onto my 4th month with Birchbox and it is really worth it! You can also buy the boxes individually as well as doing the 6 month or yearly subscriptions
