My Current Makeup Routine

Ever since I started to wear makeup on a regular basis. I have never really changed the kind of look that I do. Although I have used many different products or worn more eyeshadow sometimes, the basic premise of my makeup routine has stayed pretty similar. At the moment, I am really enjoying how I am creating my everyday look and some of the products I can definitely see staying in my routine in the future.

Skincare and Primer
After washing my face, I use my Superdrug serum which I raved about in this post and then follow with whatever moisturiser that I am using. I am currently switching between the Superdrug Simply Pur SPF15 Face Cream and the Simple Kind To Skin Protecting Light Moisturiser - I don't dislike either of them but I don't really love either of them as well so I am still looking for a great hydrating moisturiser. The current primer I am using is on its last legs and it is the Benefit POREfessional PRO Balm Primer which I have used before and I do like how it feels on the skin. If you have any recommendations for primers I would love to hear them.
Face
I don't wear foundation on a daily basis and I occasionally wear it when I am going out in the evening. The concealer that I use for under my eyes and any other areas of my face that need some coverage is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the lightest shade. It is slightly too light for me but I find that all the other shades dry orange on my skin. I do make sure that I don't go too heavy with it under my eyes and once it is blended out it looks fine. I have recently been enjoying using the Real Techniques Contour brush from the Core Collection. The powder that I am using to set my concealer is the Soap&Glory One Heck Of A Blot Super-Translucent Mattifying Powder; to me, powder is powder and I tend to just pick one up from the drugstore whenever I need a new one. It is a great powder to keep in a bag because the lid is very secure as it is packaged in a compact-like container. For powder brushes, I often switch between the Urban Decay powder brush or the Real Techniques Duo Fibre face brush from the Nic's Picks collection which I also often use for bronzer.

On my cheeks, I am still using the Sleek Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette in Light for blush and bronzer. I occasionally use the highlighter but I am not a huge fan of the texture of the highlighter, it is fine for blush but for me personally, I don't like that in a highlighter. On some days I will use either Benefit Sugarbomb Sugar Rush Flush Face Powder or Clinique Blushing Blush Powder Blush in Bashful Plum instead of the blush from the contour kit. However, I do think the Clinique blush shade is not available anymore.
EyEyes
I always start any of my eye looks with some kind of base. In the past I have really enjoyed Urban Decay Primer Potion but at the moment I just use a bit of concealer blended out across the lid and then lightly set it with a bit of powder. I then use Buck from the Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette all over the lid using the Real Techniques Base Shadow brush from the Starter Set. Next, as I have done for a very long time, I use another RT Base Shadow brush and blend some bronzer from the Face Form kit through the crease. I then use a shorter and more dense eyeshadow blending brush to lightly apply a matte brown eyeshadow into the outer corner of my eye and into the crease to deepen the look. I then run the base shadow brush that I used for the bronzer back through the crease again to perfect the look.

For eyeliner, I still do the same cat eyeliner that I have been wearing for almost my entire makeup life. At the moment I am using the original Soap&Glory Supercat Liquid Black Eyeliner Pen. I ave tried so many different mascaras and although I love both They're Real and Rollerlash from Benefit, I am currently testing out the L'Oreal Falsh Lash Superstar X Fiber mascara. It comes with two wands attached to either end with numbers showing what end to use first. The first step is a primer and the second contains fibers. So far I am not noticing a massive difference but I do have very short eyelashes and I have lost my eyelash curler so when I have a new one, I will use it to see if it makes any difference.
LiLips
For lips, I will keep this short as I have already spoken in previous posts about the various lip products I like to wear. If I am wearing liquid lipstick, I have been recently going for either NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Embellishment or the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm which I bought recently. I have tried the Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen last year but I cannot find it anywhere and whilst I was still at university, that was often a lip colour I went for.

So that is my current makeup rountine! I hope you enjoyed this post and if you would like any more in depth reviews of any of these products please let me know!

  1. I have mixed feelings about the L'Oreal Falsh Lash Superstar X Fiber mascara, I like the 1st bit but I feel the 2nd part which is the fiber bit just makes my lashes clumpy!
