My Favourite Fragrances - Roses All The Way

Take time to smell the roses. Literally in my case. I love a rose perfume, I don’t think I actually own one that doesn’t have at least a hint of rose. Or something extremely familiar to it. I used to love all those sickly sweet body sprays, but once rose was introduced to my life, the sicklys went and the rose stayed. I go between all four of these, some to the extent where someone will know exactly what perfume I am wearing.

Jo Malone: First Thoughts

It was my 22nd birthday on the 12th May and this year I was treated to some Jo Malone goodies from my parents. Jo Malone is such a well-known luxury brand and are iconic for their fragrances and packaging. I have wanted to try Jo Malone products for a while now but for some reason I never plucked up the courage to try anything. I think it has always been a mixture of being shy around sale assistants and being a bit daunted by the prices.

My Fragrance Collection

I've done a couple of blog posts about my favourite fragrances, but never one with my entire collection. Fragrance is a very personal thing, much more I feel than makeup or fashion. I am really drawn to quite heavy, mostly floral based fragrances - especially rose. In my current collection, I've got a mixture of old favourites, new favourites and at various prices. Most of these I have received as gifts from birthdays, Christmas or thank-you gifts. However I would definitely (and have) repurchased a lot of these with my own money.

High-End Beauty Products I Can't Live Without

Whilst I am a firm believer in high-street makeup, which has been killing it over the last few years, there are some things that I have tried that are a bit more pricey, but I don't think I could live without them. Whilst I like looking around the beauty counters in department stores, I often find I only purchase things when I have a specific product to buy. In this post, I am going to be talking about three products that I just cannot imagine not having in my life anymore. I would thoroughly recommend all these products (but one is a fragrance and obviously that is a lot more personal).

My Favourite Perfumes: All About That Rose

Today's post is all about my favourite perfumes. I tend to find perfumes I love, and then stick to them for years. I don't have a lot of fragrances in general as I am very particular to what scents I like and dislike. Fragrance is one of the most difficult categories to write about in the beauty world as I feel like it is the most fickle and I know not everyone will like the perfumes that I am talking about today. All these perfumes have floral notes and are more on the heavier side so if you don't like those kinds of perfumes, I'm sorry! Anyway, I hope that some of you are able to find this post interesting!

January Favourites

Today's post is all about what products I have been loving this January. I will try to do one of these every month but if a lot of products keep making appearances, then I might only feature favourite posts every so often when there is enough new things to talk about! Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these products or any recommendations you have for me to try!

New Additions To My Beauty Routine

Last month, I did a few posts on some makeup staples, both high street and high end. However as a makeup lover, I cannot resist trying out new things and seeing how they match up to my current favourites. I thought I would write about some new products that I have been trying out recently. I wanted to start this post by saying that I did not pay full price for these, they are a mixture of presents and purchased from a sale. However I promise that none of these were sent to me or am I being paid for anything. I’ve got a mixture of makeup, fragrance and skincare to chat about so let’s get cracking!

July Birchbox - Born Unicorn

First off, I hope anyone who attended any pride events had a fabulous time! It is almost perfect that this month's Birchbox has a unicorn theme too! Not that you can really tell from the box other than 'Born Unicorn' on the tray insert! The swirl design is also holographic, I tried to capture that as best I could. The box this month is about embracing our inner magic and celebrating what makes us one-of-a-kind. No matter who we are, the colour of our skin, sexuality or gender identity, we are all unique, but all human and that should be celebrated! No unicorn left behind or left in the dark!

March Birchbox - You Go Girl

Friday was International Women's Day so it is no surprise that the March Birchbox is in full celebration of girl power! The idea of the product selection is about multi-tasking, something women have been known to be amazing at! What I love about this month's box as well is the colour coordination of the product packaging - I wonder if that was intentional! Let's celebrate the achievements that women have made around the world, and continue to ask for the changes that still need to happen!

October Beauty Haul

Whenever I go into the Marks & Spencer near where my nana lives, I always pop down to the beauty section to peruse the shelves. I also attended the Olympia Beauty show on Monday where they had a plethora of professional beauty and skincare brands. I picked up a few items at both places and thought I would share them with you! All of the items were under £20 when I purchased them but the items I bought at Olympia Beauty might have had a trade discount.

August Birchbox - Summer Lovin'

Summer Lovin', had me a blast! Is it even possible to see the phrase summer loving/lovin' without immediately embracing your inner Pink Lady or T-Bird? The box design is very fitting for this month, all these warm and bright shades together. It also reminded me of the August box design back in 2017 in terms of the gold outline. What is also great about this month's box, is that all but feature in Birchbox's Ingredient Conscious selection. This includes all the cruelty-free, vegan and organic products that Birchbox sell. Let's see what was inside!

June Birchbox: Daytripping

A new month means a new Birchbox post! I was really excited to receive this month's Birchbox because rather than it being in the usual box, we got a bag! All the bags were a light purple and you could either choose to have it with yellow stripes and handle, or mint stripes and handle. I chose the mint as I felt like it went with the purple better and I love it! It is a decent travel size which was the whole reasoning behind this month's theme: 'Daytripping'. The bag also has a matte finish which I think makes it look even more gorgeous!

My Desert Island Beauty Picks - Blush

It's time to do another 'desert island' beauty picks post. There was not one last month, but you can check out all my previous ones here. If you have not seen the other ones, the premise is that aside from all the basics (food, water etc.), as a makeup lover, deciding three items from a particular area of beauty that I would take with me. Sadly I have too much makeup to part with so I have to do it in sections. This month, I am doing blush. I should point out that these blushes will not suit everyone as it is for my skintone, but I do love the formulas and each has other shades which should work for other people!

February Birchbox - Birchbox X Not On The High Street

This month marks my third year purchasing Birchboxes. I love getting a box of goodies to try every month. This month’s box is in collaboration with Not On The High Street. My family has actually purchased a lot of things from this website, including a print that I got for my mum for Christmas that lists important places from her life. Every box includes a voucher, I would definitely recommend picking up this box – you can buy individual boxes as well as subscriptions!

Mixing Makeup - What I Mix With Foundations

I've never been an avid foundation wearer. It's not something I need on a day to day basis, and I don't really need it for coverage. However alongside primer I find that foundation helps the rest of my face makeup adhere much better, especially if I am heading out to a special occasion. But as I mentioned, I don't need foundation for the coverage so when I am using one, I often mix it with something to thin it out a little and add some glow. I've tried various things over the years, and I've recently found myself switching between three.

Is My Beauty Stash Recyclable?

The impact of plastic on the environment feels like a never-ending struggle. At the end of last year, the Royal Statistical Society found that only 9% of all plastic is properly recycled. Whilst more brands are bringing out plastic alternatives, coffee-shops offering discounts to customers with reusable cups; the one area that I don’t think gets discussed enough is plastic and the beauty industry.

Lush Halloween Haul

Halloween and Christmas are my favourite collections that Lush bring out. As soon as I found out when my local store were officially selling the collections, I have been itching to stock up! My youngest sister is also obsessed with Lush so on Friday after she had finished with school, we went down to Lush to explore all the Halloween goodies! We were very good and did not get any of the Christmas things but don't worry, once Halloween is over - I will be all over that Christmas stuff! Some of the products we both chose and some only one of us chose but I decided to include everything that we bought!

July Birchbox: Summer Daze

We are over half way through 2017 which is ridiculous and it is also the start of a new month which means I've got my latest Birchbox! I have to say that I am not a massive fan of the box design this month, but mainly because I don't think I could use it as part of a blog post background other than the tray insert. In this month's box, there is only one brand that I have not heard of but they are all things that I have not tried before! I am coming to the end of my first Birchbox subscription and I am definitely going to repurchase another one! I really recommend giving it a go, you can buy the boxes individually or get either a 6 month or 12 month subscription.

March Birchbox: Be Present Not Perfect

Another month, another Birchbox post. This month’s box is centered around mindfulness, and taking out some time for yourself. Self-care is just as important as caring for others, and although I would not use all these products on a pamper night, I am very excited to try out all these products. Now this is a slightly longer post than normal, but with good reason! Keep reading to find out more.

Five Favourites: September 2018

Monthly favourites are quite a regular feature on many of the beauty bloggers and influencers blogs/YouTube channels that I follow, but as I don’t buy or receive lots of different products to try, it can be easier to stick with what you know. However recently, I have been trying out more things that I have bought and re-discovered an old favourite so I thought I would bring back my Five Favourites post. There is also a mix of price points in the post so hopefully there is a product that everyone can try!
